Calo Turns Broadway to Bust Gahlen

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The action was caught on Q2J10 board in a hand between Mikel Calo in middle position, and Marc Von Gahlen in the big blind. Calo moved all in for Gahlen's remaining 20,000 and Gahlen snap-called.

Marc Von Gahlen: Q10 All in
Mikel Calo: AK

Calo had the nuts with the Broadway straight but had to fade Gahlen's full house outs on the river. The 2 didn't change anything and Gahlen was out of the tournament.

Fikret Kovac

In a three-way pot on a board of J8Q, Andreas Burger bet 11,300 and Willem van Leeuwen called before Fikret Kovac raised to 70,000.

Burger went deep in the tank and eventually folded in frustration as Van Leeuwen called. Kovac then quickly moved all in for around 135,000 and Van Leeuwen groaned before folding 88 face-up for a set of eights.

Burger then revealed he folded kings and Kovac showed the 10 before claiming he had 109 for the nut straight.

"Good fold," someone said to Van Leeuwen.

"What can he have?" Van Leeuwen replied.

Great Flop for Moallem; Alfaro Gets Away

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Francesco La Scala opened to 5,500 in the cutoff, and both Jose Alfaro and Daniel Moallem came along in the blinds.

When the K76 flop hit the felt, the action checked to La Scala who continued for 6,000. Alfaro check-raised to 16,000 and Moallem was looking to do the same as he put in another raise to 45,000. La Scala tanked for about three minutes before the clock was called by a tablemate and he slapped in his 41,000. Alfaro sigh-folded as he tossed his KxQx face up and both players tabled their hands.

Francesco La Scala: AK All in
Daniel Moallem: 76

La Scala flopped top pair top kicker but was in rough shape as Moallem flopped bottom two pair. The 7 fell on the turn, giving Moallem a boat and the 2 river meant La Scala was eliminated from the tournament.
