Ahmed Karrim shoved from the hijack for 17,000 and Ren Lin called from the cutoff with a covering stack to put Karrim at risk.
Ahmed Karrim: A♣9♦
Ren Lin: A♦8♠
Karrim was in good shape to double up with the bigger ace although the K♠K♣7♣ flop increased the likelihood of a chop. That all changed when Lin took the lead on the 8♣ turn although Karrim picked up the nut-flush draw. The flush came right in on the 2♣ river and Karrim scored the double up through Lin.
Boris Angelov bet 20,000 from the cutoff on a flop of A♦A♠10♥ and Victor Chong called in the big blind.
Both players checked the 6♠ turn and the 7♥ fell on the river. Angelov then bet 40,500. Chong came back with a raise to 92,000 and Angelov quickly folded.
Action was picked up on the turn with 60,000 already in the middle in a hand between Enrico Coppola from the hijack and Hon Cheong Lee from the small blind.
On a board reading Q♣J♠7♦3♦, Lee led for 35,000 only to be be min-raised by Coppola to 70,000. In response, Lee three-bet jammed for 155,000, much to the distaste of Coppola who was left with a difficult decision.
After using two time banks, Coppola opted to fold, conceding a massive pot in the direction of Lee without showdown.
Masato Yokosawa moved all in for 19,000 from under the gun and Sam Grafton called in the big blind.
Masato Yokosawa: A♠9♥
Sam Grafton: 7♣7♦
Yokosawa's camera crew sprung into high alert as he found himself in a coin flip for his tournament life. The flop came 8♥A♥3♥ and Yokosawa took the lead with top pair, while also picking up a flush draw.
The rest of the board ran out 8♦K♠ and Yokosawa doubled up.
Scott Margereson already had 7,000 across the line from the hijack and was faced with a raise of 25,000 from Paul Runcan in the big blind. Margereson put in another raise, putting his entire stack of 72,500 across the line and Runcan made the call.
Scott Margereson: A♠A♣
Paul Runcan: A♥K♠
Margereson had the best hand in the game and had very little to sweat as the board ran out J♠9♠7♦4♣10♥.

Marcin Kreft: A♠A♥
Jack Corrigan: K♠J♥
Kreft was in great shape to double with the best possible starting hand but the K♥ river improved Corrigan to two pair and he took the pot while Kreft was sent to the rail in brutal fashion.
