Syversen Takes From Ho, Busts Shortly After

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Action folded around to Thomas Syversen on the button who opened for 1,000. Shiina Okamoto called in the small blind and Maria Ho defended the big blind.

Both blinds checked the monotone flop of 9K8 to Syversen who bet 1,000. Okamoto folded and Ho called. She then checked the 4 turn, prompting Syversen to continue for 3,000. After a moment's thought, Ho slid her cards into the muck.

Syversen had half a starting stack after the pot, but he could not spin it up and busted shortly afterwards.

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Sean Jazayari
Sean Jazayari

Sean Jazayeri opened to 1,200 from the hijack before he was three-bet to 3,500 by Jose Zurita in the cutoff. Jazayeri called to see a flop of KQ4.

Jazayeri checked and then called a bet of 2,600 from Zurita and the dealer then placed the 10 turn on the board.

Again, Jazayeri checked, but this time his opponent did likewise leading to the 2 river.

Jazayeri checked a final time and got a quick check back from Zurita.

K9 was tabled by Jazayeri which was good enough to take the pot with his pair of kings.

Massimo Mosele raised from the cutoff to 1,300 and Ankit Ahuja defended his big blind.

They both saw a flop of 2J2 which was checked through to the 8 turn. Ahuja led out for 2,000, and Mosele called.

A 3 fell on the river and Ahuja fired again for 4,500, which Mosele called.

Ahuja confidently flipped A8 for a pair of eights, but was surprised to see the KK of Mosele for a pair of kings.

Dimitrios Angelakos
Dimitrios Angelakos

Gabriel Sborz raised to 1,000 in early position before Kristian Dahl three-bet to 3,200 in middle position. Dimitrios Angelakos then four-bet to 8,000.

Sborz didn't notice Angelakos had reraised and attempted to just call Dahl's bet. The dealer forced him to put in the 8,000, while Dahl quickly got out of the way.

The flop came 1072 and Angelakos moved all in. Sborz snap-called for his last 21,000.

Gabriel Sborz: 109 All in
Dimitrios Angelakos: AK

Sborz was ahead with top pair, but Angelakos spiked the A on the turn to take the lead. The river was the 5 and Sborz was eliminated.

"I didn't see," Sborz said on his way to the rail.

Four-Bet Incoming!

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Lauri Varonen opened the action to 1,200 from under-the-gun and was called by Ibrahim Kiriakus to his immediate left. From the small blind Matheus Machado squeezed to 6,000.

Back on Varonen, he thought for about a minute before clicking it up to 12,000 with his four-bet.

This quickly shed Kiriakus, but Machado wasn't so quick to fold. Eventually, he did though, to send a healthy pot to Varonen without seeing a flop.

There had been an open before Nazar Buhaiov three-bet to 3,000 on the button. Dario De Paz then four-bet from the big blind to 8,000, which only Buhaiov called.

On the monotone 5K10 flop, Da Paz made a continuation-bet of 4,500 and Buhaiov called.

A 2 hit the turn and Da Paz moved all in for 15,100, which got a fold out of Buhaiov.

On the same table, Kian Kiani has just sat down and introduced himself to the table.

"Hi everybody, my name is Kian. Sometimes they call me the eliminator and sometimes the eliminated,".

Let's see what version of Kiani has turned up to Day 1a of the EPT Main Event.

Mamouni Comes From Behind to Bust Watson

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Mohamed Mamouni raised to 1,100 under the gun and received three callers before Mike Watson moved all in for 12,500 in the small blind. Mamouni reshoved and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Mike Watson: AK All in
Mohamed Mamouni: KJ

Watson had Mamouni dominated and was poised for a double up as the flop came Q77, giving Mamouni a flush draw. The turn was the 10 and Mamouni completed his flush to leave Watson drawing dead by the K river, sending the two-time EPT champion to the rail.

Simon Wiciak was also eliminated shortly after coming back from break and will need to rely on his second bullet in hopes of defending his title.
