Lin Shows the Counterfeited "Nuts"

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Following an early position turn bet by Ren Lin and a check-call by Giovanni Giudice, a completed board of 86628 plus about 40,000 chips was in front of the duo.

Giudice checked again and Lin plunked down a healthy stack of blue T-5,000 chips.

Giudice folded, which was complimented by Lin as he said "good fold, good fold, nuts" before tabling 92 for a pair of deuces that were counterfeited on the river, leaving his river bluff his only path to victory.

Karakousis Wins a Small Multi-Way Pot

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Alex Keating had just joined the table before he raised to 4,000 from the hijack. Julien Rouquet, Georgios Karakousis, and Allan Barnes called him.

Barnes led out from the big blind for 6,000 on the 926 flop, which only got called by Karakousis on the button.

The K turn saw Barnes check-call a bet of 8,000 from Karakousis.

Both players checked the A river and Karakousis took down the pot with J9 for a pair of nines, as Barnes turned over 8x7x for a busted straight draw.

Wolfgang Poker Having Another Crack at the EPT Main Event

Wolfgang Poker at EPT Monte Carlo
Wolfgang Poker at EPT Monte Carlo

Back in May, YouTube sensation Alex "Wolfgang Poker" Seibt journeyed to the EPT for the first time, taking a shot in the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event. The decision paid off as Seibt put in a deep run, bowing out in a very respectable 18th place for €35,100 ($37,536).

He's decided to have another pop at EPT Main Event glory, being one of the dozens of Day 2 entrants here in Barcelona. Seibt nursed a short stack for some time before being able to add enough chips to get out of shove or fold territory, and he was looking to rake in some more pots in hopes of emulating his performance from a few months ago.

Yanis Avanesyan opened to 4,500, and Seibt defended his big blind.

Seibt check-called for 4,000 on the Q53 flop before the 4 turn checked through to the 3 river. Seibt led out for 15,500, which appeared to frustrate Avanesyan. The latter ended up making the call anyway.

Seibt tabled A2 for a wheel, and Avanesyan began muttering under his breath as he mucked his cards.

Seibt could only shrug his shoulders as he took in a chip stack boosting pot.

Gilllingham Calls Down Sydenstricker

Joao Sydenstricker

Around 60,000 was already in the pot as Joao Sydenstricker and Matthew Gillingham went to the river on a board of J74AK. Sydenstricker then moved all in from the button.

Gillingham tanked for a moment before calling in the big blind with J4 for two pair. Sydenstricker flashed a pair of eights as he sent them into the muck. The stacks were counted down and Gillingham had 120,000 remaining. Sydenstricker was barely covered and last year's runner-up was sent to the rail.

Big Stacks Kanme and Ullereng Battle Preflop

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Raoul Kanme
Raoul Kanme

Following an early position raise to 4,000, Raoul Kanme three-bet to 14,000 from the hijack. Action folded to Mats Ullereng in the small blind who cold four-bet to 44,000.

This shed the original raiser, but Kanme wasn't done yet as he five-bet it to 89,000.

The duo had each started the hand with over 300,000 chips and were threatening to play a monster-sized pot.

Ullereng went into the tank for a couple of minutes before sliding his cards back to the dealer with a "nice bluff" directed at Kanme.

Kanme shook his head slightly as he exchanged his cards for the pot, putting him over 400,000 chips.
