Players are back from break and action is underway. There are three more hands remaining in Level 33 before blinds go up to 150,000/300,000 with a 300,000 big blind ante.
The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), PokerStars’ flagship online series, is officially locked in for its 24th edition, running from September 7 to October 1, 2025.
Before the action kicks off, PokerStars is giving players the chance to sharpen their skills and win their way in through a newly enhanced WCOOP Boot Camp, offering $9 million in guarantees, a packed tournament schedule, and expert coaching.
Running August 3–18, the WCOOP Boot Camp is designed to give players of all levels the opportunity to prepare for the main series.
First, Julian Pineda Lozano made it 500,000 from the cutoff with A♣6♥, and then folded after Tomasz Brzezinski three-bet the button to 1,350,000 with A♣K♣.
A couple of hands later, Thomas Eychenne opened 10♦8♦ from the cutoff, and Umberto Zaffagnini three-bet to 1,400,000 out of the small blind holding A♥9♠.
Both players checked the 7♣J♦8♣ flop to see the 10♥ roll off on the turn. Zaffagnini fired a bet of 1,200,000, which Eychenne called.
A 7♠ dropped on the river, and Zaffagnini fired almost a pot-sized bet of 4,000,000. Eychenne went deep into the tank and was visibly distressed by the spot he was in. After burning through around five of his time banks, Eychenne folded, and Zaffagnini was awarded the pot.
Anton Suarez raised to 500,000 on the button and Thomas Eychenne called in the big blind.
Both players checked the 10♥5♦3♠ flop. Suarez then bet 750,000 on the Q♥ turn and Eychenne called.
The river was the 5♣ and Suarez bet 2,500,000. Eychenne used a time bank before raising to 5,000,000, enough to put Suarez all in.
Suarez went into the tank and ended up burning through three time banks, eventually calling for his last 1,030,000. He showed A♥Q♣ for two pair, but Eychenne had rivered trips holding 5♥4♥ to win the pot and send Suarez to the rail in sixth place.
Sebastian Ionita raised to 500,000 from the hijack and only Tomasz Brzezinski called out of the big blind.
Both players checked a runout of 5♦4♠6♥3♥10♦ all the way down and Brzezinski turned over K♥9♣ for king-high. Ionita had that beat with A♠J♠ and another pot went his way.
Sebastian Ionita raised to 500,000 in the cutoff and Anton Suarez called in the big blind.
The flop came K♥Q♦Q♣ and Ionita bet 300,000. Suarez called and the 5♠ fell on the turn.
Ionita then bet 900,000 and Suarez again called. The river was the A♣ and Ionita bet 1,800,000.
Suarez went deep into the tank, using up two time banks. "Good bluff," he eventually told Ionita, folding K♦J♦. Ionita wasn't bluffing but instead had Q♥J♣ for flopped trips, returning his cards to the dealer as he raked in the pot.
Tomasz Brzezinski completed from the small blind with A♥4♠ before Thomas Eychenne raised to 750,000 out of the big blind holding Q♠10♥. Brzezinski went for the most aggressive option and limp-raised to 2,050,000. Eychenne folded, and Brzezinski picked up the pot.
On the very next hand, Julian Pineda Lozano min-raised A♣9♠ to 500,000 from the hijack, and was three-bet to 1,350,000 by Brzezinski on the button with K♣10♦. The rest of the table folded, and Brzezinski won his second pot in a row preflop.
