Barny Boatman opened to 40,000 in middle position before he was three-bet to 85,000 by Fabian Bernhauser in the hijack.
Milos Petakovic joined the clicking battle by four-betting to 160,000, after which it folded back to Boatman. He quickly moved all in for 330,000, prompting Bernhauser to get out of the way.
Petakovic shrugged and called off, however, putting the 2024 EPT Paris Main Event champion at risk.
Barny Boatman: A♥A♦
Milos Petakovic: A♣Q♦
The deck had no outs left for Petakovic after the 10♣3♠6♠9♦ turn, and he paid Boatman what he owed on the 8♥ river.
After getting three-outered in a 1.7 million chip pot, Joachim Haraldstad has responded well to the start-of-day set-back. Immediately after being left with 185,000, he doubled to 420,000 and then picked up another pot to get closer to average. Now the Norwegian is almost back to where he started after eliminating Spyros Karathanos.
Merijn van Rooij opened to 40,000 from early position before Karathanos jammed for 180,000 from the next seat over. Haraldstad attempted a raise, but it was ruled as a call as he got his math incorrect. This didn't matter though as Van Rooij got out of the way.
Spyros Karathanos: A♦J♣
Joachim Haraldstad: A♣K♠
Haraldstad picked up the bust out after his Big Slick remained best following the 10♥6♠5♥4♥4♠ runout.
On another table, PokerStars' Benjamin Bruneteaux was eliminated.
Milos Petakovic raised to 40,000 in early position, after which Corentin Soulier moved in for 255,000 in the hijack. Vladimir Lipnitskii asked for a count before he committed his stack of 445,000 from the small blind, forcing Petakovic out.
Corentin Soulier: K♦K♣
Vladimir Lipnitskii: A♠Q♣
Lipnitskii flopped a pair on 8♠Q♦9♠, but it was not enough to win the pot as the remainder of the board ran out 5♣2♥, posing no threat to the kings of Soulier.
Keith Johnson opened to 40,000 under the gun, and Marius Pertea called in the neighboring seat. It then folded to Yelizaveta Aktas, who put her stack of 150,000 at risk from the big blind.
Johnson quickly rejammed, signaling Pertea to get out of the pot and leave the players to show down.
Yelizaveta Aktas: A♥Q♥
Keith Johnson: A♠K♠
Aktas had no outs remaining after the 9♠2♦2♠K♥ turn, and the meaningless 5♥ river completed the board before she took her exit from the PokerStars Open.
Merijn van Rooij opened to 40,000 from under the gun before Joachim Haraldstad three-bet to 120,000 from middle position. It folded back to Van Rooij, who bumped it to 260,000, and then Haraldstad made it 420,000. The raising war didn't end there as Van Rooij six-bet jammed for 835,000. Haraldstad snap-called.
Merijn van Rooij: A♣K♥
Joachim Haraldstad: K♣K♦
Van Rooij was instantly rewarded with the A♠ in the window, which was followed by the 9♥8♥. The board completed with the Q♣5♠ and Van Rooij won a massive pot early on in Day 3.
On the next deal, Haraldstad raised to 165,000, leaving 20,000 behind. Keith Johnson called from the cutoff.
Haraldstad put in his last 20,000 before the 10♣7♠3♦ flop. Johnson made the call and the cards were tabled.
Joachim Haraldstad: A♥7♥
Keith Johnson: A♦Q♠
Haralstad found a three-outer of his own, and doubled up after the 9♦ turn and K♥ river.
Gerard Carbo made it 40,000 to go in the hijack, which Longmao Fan three-bet to 110,000 in the cutoff. It folded back to Carbo, who announced an all-in bet worth 525,000.
Fan double-checked his cards before he quickly called with a covering stack.
Gerard Carbo: K♥10♥
Longmao Fan: A♣K♣
Carbo turned a flush draw on J♥4♦8♣3♥ for some extra outs, and the river brought the 2♥ to complete it. Carbo was awarded the pot with his flush, gaining a seven-figure stack in the process.
