Chevalier Lets It Go

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Marian Virlanuta
Marian Virlanuta

With the full board showing K4853 and about 85,000 in the pot, Pierre Chevalier led out for 25,000. Marian Virlanuta responded by moving all in for around 220,000. It was a tough spot for Chevalier, who had about 122,000 left behind.

Chevalier counted his stack and asked Virlanuta if he would show his cards if he folded, but got no reply. After some thought, Chevalier folded. Virlanuta then said, “If you show first, I’ll show.” Chevalier laughed, “If I show and win, it’s too embarrassing.”

Virlanuta turned over 86 anyway, while Chevalier mucked his hand. “So you had nothing?” Chevalier asked. “I had a king.”

But the pot was pushed Virlanuta's way, giving him a healthy boost in chips.

About 23,000 were in the three-way pot on a 489 flop. First to act, Sebastian Schulze checked to Daniel Rezaei, who fired a bet of 10,000. Ferdinand Janssen folded, and Schulze responded by moving all in for 24,000. Rezaei made the call, sending the cards to a showdown.

Sebastian Schulze: 76All in
