Tom Vogelsang raised to 5,000 from early position and was called by Igor Pihela Jr. from the big blind.
Pihela Jr. check-called bets of 3,000 and 10,000 for the board to read J♣10♣9♣J♥8♠.
Pihela Jr. decided to preserve the 75,000 he had behind, and folded when he faced a decision for his tournament life.
With a raise to 5,000 ahead of him, Jason Wheeler called in the cutoff. Konstantyn Holskyi then put in a three-bet to 23,000 from the small blind. The original raiser got out of the way, but Wheeler responded with a four-bet all-in, covering his opponent's stack of 98,000. Undeterred, Holskyi made the call.
Konstantyn Holskyi: Q♣Q♦
Jason Wheeler: J♣J♥
There would be no two outer for Wheeler, as the board ran out 4♦A♥9♥6♠5♦, ensuring Holskyi received a full double up.
The very next deal, Wheeler got his remaining 21,000 stack in preflop and doubled up.
Ben Heath opened to 5,000 from the cutoff. Jorge Rios on the button called, but Nikolaos Angelou in the small blind three-bet all-in for 46,500. Heath raised and quickly made Rios fold.
Nikolaos Angelou: K♥Q♠
Ben Heath: A♠Q♥
The board of 2♦4♠10♦9♠2♣ was no help for Angelou who was eliminated.
Giuseppe Spitale opened to 5,000 from early position. Claudio Coelho called on his direct left. David Kaufmann reraised to 32,000 from the small blind. Spitale thought for a moment before making it 105,000. Coelho put in his last 28,500 and Kaufmann five-bet shoved for a little bit more than the four-bet. Spitale called.
Claudio Coelho: 9♦7♦
David Kaufmann: J♦J♥
Giuseppe Spitale: K♦K♣
Spitale bounced out both opponents after his kings remained best following the A♠9♣2♣8♥10♦ runout.
Seeing an under-the-gun raise to 5,000 ahead of him, Kazuhiko Yotsushika three-bet to 13,000 from the cutoff. Wouter Beltz, in the big blind, then four-bet jammed for roughly 130,000. The initial raiser folded, but Yotsushika snap-called.
Yotsushika was the shorter of the two stacks, with 92,000, and, as such, it was he at risk.
Kazuhiko Yotsushika: A♥Q♦
Wouter Beltz: J♥J♣
Yotsushika was flipping for his tournament life, and when the 9♥8♠5♦7♥10♠ runout only served to improve Beltz to a straight, Yotsushika vacated his seat and headed to the exit.
