Dimitrios Gkatzas opened the action with a raise to 1,700 in early position. John Mooney three-bet to 5,000 in middle position, after which Marius Kudzmanas upped the price to 12,000 in the cutoff.
Gkatzas quickly got out of the way, but Mooney wanted to see a flop and called the extra chips.
The 5♠J♥3♥ flop made Mooney lead out for 6,500. Kudzmanas matched the bet to see the 2♥ turn, where Mooney kept firing. His bet of 8,000 was enough to take the pot as Kudzmanas swiftly let go of his hand.
Luke Porter opened to 1,700 from the cutoff, Patrick El Kallas called from the button, and Damian Rapanowicz three-bet shoved for 37,300 from the big blind.
Porter called, slightly covering Rapanowicz, and El Kallas called with his stack of roughly 25,000.
Patrick El Kallas: 10♠10♦
Damian Rapanowicz: A♠Q♣
Luke Porter: 9♠9♦
Rapanowicz took the lead with top pair on the A♣J♣2♠ flop, and remained ahead as the rest of the board ran out K♠3♣ to send El Kallas to the rail and leave Porter severely short-stacked.
The pot had already grown past 40,000 with the board fully fanned out at 10♣5♦A♠9♣2♦. Guillermo Gordo in the hijack checked to Timothy Chung in the cutoff, who shoved his remaining 23,900 into the middle. Gordo, with slightly less behind, took his time before making the call and sending the hand to showdown.
Chung tabled 10♦9♦ for two pair, while Gordo's A♦Q♦ only had a pair.
Will Kassouf opened to 1,800 from early position, Quentin Saint-Martin called from middle position, Paolo Boi called from the hijack, and Joao Ferreira three-bet shoved for 13,400 from the button. Kassouf folded, Saint-Martin folded, and Boi called with a covering stack.
Joao Ferreira: A♠K♦
Paolo Boi: A♥5♥
The K♠4♣Q♣A♣6♣ runout gave Ferreira top two pair to double up through Boi.
Guillermo Gordo and Timothy Chung had reached the Q♣A♠K♥2♣10♦ river in their blind-on-blind battle. With 22,000 already collected, Gordo checked to Chung.
Chung then moved in for 11,300 effective, covering Gordo, and received a snap-call. Chung had a missed gutshot with 5♣3♦, leaving Gordo to rake in the double-up with K♣10♣ for two pair.
Kaan Ozdemir was the first to be eliminated in this second flight of the main event, but reentered early on.
In the first hand after the break, he found himself all-in again and at risk for his remaining 8,500.
Niklas Deitmer opened from under the gun to 1,600, and Kaan Ozdemir moved all in on the button. Deitmer was the only caller, and the players went to showdown.
Kaan Ozdemir: A♣K♠
Niklas Deitmer: A♦10♠
It was a strong start for Ozdemir, but the J♣3♠10♣ flop saw Deitmer improve to a pair.
There was some hope for a straight, but he couldn't find a way back on the 2♣ turn or 3♦ river, and was eliminated from the main event for the second time today.
