Kicker Saves Guimaraens

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Action was followed from the Q64 flop, with a pot of around 40,000 already in play.

Antonio Guimaraens had jammed for his remaining 40,000 from the big blind and action was on Conor O'Driscoll sitting under the gun.

O'Driscoll moved in a stack of chips to call, and the players turned over their hands.

Antonio Guimaraens: AQAll in
Conor O'Driscoll: Q9

Guimaraens was just ahead, but O'Driscoll had some outs with the flush draw. Guimaraens took the pot with the ace kicker after seeing the 4 turn and 2 river.

Maaravi in "God Mode" to Start the Day

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Tjenno Eskes moved all in for 60,000 from under the gun and Eyal Maaravi called in early position.

Tjenno Eskes: KK All in
Eyal Maaravi: 88

Eskes was a favorite to double up with his kings as the flop came J72, while the 10 fell on the turn. The river, though, was the 9 and Maaravi improved to both a straight and a flush to win the pot and send last year's seventh-place finisher to the rail.

"God Mode," tablemate Igors Vikainis said to Maaravi.

"Too short to fold eights," Maaravi replied.

"I'm not blaming you. Just remember to share. You can't have them all," Vikainis added.

Big Bet on the River

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Alexander Norden kicked things off with an open raise in the hijack, drawing two callers: Sergey Lebedev on the button and Mehdi Senhaji in the big blind.

The flop came 2KK, and the action checked to Lebedev, who slid out a bet of 8,000. Norden made the call while Senhaji stepped aside.

Both players checked the Q turn, bringing the action to the 8 river. Norden checked again, and Lebedev fired a sizable bet of 50,000. The pressure was enough to push Norden off his hand, leaving Lebedev to pull in the pot.

Jeffrey Sarwer raised to 11,000 in middle position and Paawan Bansal called in the cutoff. David Docherty then moved all in for 45,000 in the big blind and Sarwer called, but Bansal then reraised to 150,000. Sarwer quickly folded.

David Docherty: 77 All in
Paawan Bansal: KK

"In Prague, it's always coming seven," Docherty said hopefully after Bansal revealed his kings, but it was Bansal who hit a set on the AQK flop.

"It's always coming two sevens," Docherty said, but no miracles arrived on the 4 turn or 3 river and he was sent to the rail.

"Kings like you. Even yesterday," tablemate Vasyl Pidhrusnyi said to Bansal after the hand.
