Pocket Rockets Boost Ruijs to Over the Milly Mark

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Joris Ruijs
Joris Ruijs

Facing a raise preflop, Joris Ruijs three-bet the button to around 60,000, and Davide Marchi cold four-bet the big blind to 130,000. The initial raiser folded, but Ruijs five-bet to 220,000. Marchi used a time bank and then six-bet ripped it in for about 590,000. Ruijs beat him into the pot with a call.

Davide Marchi: J♣J♥All in
Joris Ruijs: A♥A♣

Ruijs had the preflop nuts with pocket rockets, and whoever won this pot would see their stack climb to over a milly and near the top of the leaderboard.

The Q♥5♣2♥ flop didn't contain the paint card Marchi needed, and neither did the Q♠ turn.

Marchi needed a two-outer to survive and leave Ruijs on dust, but it never came as the 3♥ completed the board.

Marchi wished the players good luck as he headed to the rail, while Ruijs' stack soared to around 1,250,000.

Nociolini Negates Tran's Chances

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Tuan Tran
Tuan Tran

Arriving on the 8♦7♣8♥5♣5♠ river in a pot of 220,000, Tuan Tran shoved all in for 179,000 under the gun. Fabricio Nociolini mulled things over in the cutoff before calling with the covering stack.

Tran tapped the table as he revealed Q♠10♣ for the two pair on the board with a queen kicker. Nociolini had hero-called with A♦10♦ for a better kicker, sending Tran to the rail.

Georgopoulos Doubles, Vranken Out

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Antoine Vranken raised to 16,000 from early position and was the only caller when Ioannis Georgopoulos moved all-in for 61,000 from the button.

Ioannis Georgopoulos: Q♠Q♥ All in
Antoine Vranken: 6♠6♣

Georgopoulos had the pot all but wrapped up on the 7♠Q♣10♦ flop, as his flopped set gave him a commanding lead. The J♣ sealed the deal, and when the A♦ completed the board, Georgopoulos celebrated his double-up.

A couple of hands later, Vranken committed his remaining 29,000 into the middle but did not survive.

Ivarsson Soars as Talbot Falls

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Alexander Ivarsson
Alexander Ivarsson

A completed board of 9♣5♦A♣10♦5♣ was on the table when Kalidou Sow bet 225,000 into a pot of 400,000 from the big blind. Alexander Ivarsson was under the gun and tanked for a few moments before he called.

Sow could only show a bluff with 8♦7♦, leaving Ivarsson to take the pot with K♣J♣.

Meanwhile, at another table, Parker Talbot lost his remaining chips and was eliminated from the Main Event.

River of Nightmares for Sanguedolce

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Kalman Dohany raised to 16,000 from middle position and Antonino Sanguedolce three-bet the hijack to 48,000. Dohany called.

Dohany checked the 8♥5♠A♥ flop, and Sanguedolce continued for 35,000. Dohany check-raised to 90,000, and Sanguedolce snap-shoved for 130,000. Dohany called, putting Sanguedolce at risk.

Antonino Sanguedolce: A♣Q♣ All in
Kalman Dohany: A♦10♦

Sanguedolce had the higher kicker and looked likely to double just after the break.

The 5♣ turn gave Dohany some chop opportunities, but the chop never came. Instead, the 10♠ rolled off on the river to give him two pair, sending Sanguedolce to the rail with a bad beat story to tell his buddies.

Foggin Doubles With Big Slick, Busts Next Hand

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Marc Foggin
Marc Foggin

After several preflop raises, Marc Foggin was all in for 176,000 on the button. His opponent was Raffael Brum, who had him covered under the gun.

Marc Foggin: A♦K♣ All in
Raffael Brum: A♣5♣

Brum flopped more outs on 3♦9♦2♥, but his gutshot did not materialize on the Q♠ turn or Q♣ river, sending the pot Foggin's way.

Although Foggin doubled up to a stack of over 50 big blinds, he would still become the final elimination of Level 17, as he was knocked out the very next hand. At another table, Iegor Zarev was eliminated slightly before.

Pereyra Flips Out Guibon

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Alexandre Guibon
Alexandre Guibon

When it folded to Alexandre Guibon in the small blind, he jammed for about 85,000 and was snap-called by Andres Pereyra in the big blind.

Alexandre Guibon: 4♦4♣ All in
Andres Pereyra: A♦J♣

Guibon was in a race for his tournament life, but he didn't seem too confident as he was already up and putting on his jacket before the cards came out.

His crystal ball was working as the J♥5♦2♣ flop gave Pereyra the lead with a pair of jacks.

No help came for Guibon on the 7♠ turn or Q♦ river, and with his jacket already on, he made his way to collect his payout.

Rodriguez Straightens Worthington-Leese Out

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Leo Worthington-Leese
Leo Worthington-Leese

Arturo Rodriguez raised to 16,000 on the button, and Leo Worthington-Leese moved all-in for 45,000 in the small blind. The big blind got out of the way, and Rodriguez called.

Leo Worthington-Leese: J♣9♣ All in
Arturo Rodriguez: 5♣4♦

Worthington-Leese retained his lead on the Q♠6♣7♦ flop, but the 3♠ turn had him drawing dead. The 2♠ completed the board, making Worthington-Leese's elimination official.
