Jianxing Kuang: A♥Q♥
Joris Ruijs: 10♣9♣
Kuang was ahead with ace-high, but Ruijs had the favorite hand of many poker players around the world.
The Q♦8♠3♠ flop gave Kuang top pair and Ruijs a gutshot straight draw.
Ruijs received instant service on the J♦ turn, improving to the nuts.
Kuang was drawing dead, making the 5♣ river inconsequential. Kuang headed to the rail, while Ruijs' stack climbed to almost two million.
Andres Pereyra raised to 25,000 under the gun. Brock Wilson responded with a three-bet to 80,000 in the hijack. It folded back to Pereyra, who shoved all in for 177,000. Wilson quickly called.
Andres Pereyra: 10♦10♣
Brock Wilson: K♥K♦
Pereyra flopped a set on 10♥J♥3♠ and remained ahead on the 4♠ turn and A♠ river, cracking Wilson's kings to double up.
Manuel Ferrari raised to 24,000 from middle position, and next to act, Oleh Pritsak moved all-in for 215,000. When the action folded to Adrian Chiforescu in the small blind, he also moved all-in, putting his 159,000 at risk. Ferrari asked for a count of both stacks, but then chose to fold.
Adrian Chiforescu: A♥J♠
Oleh Pritsak: 8♥8♦
The window card was good news for Chiforescu, but bad news followed on the action A♠8♠K♠ flop. Already with a flush draw, Chiforescu picked up extra outs on the J♣ turn, but the 2♥ river was a brick, and Chiforescu's Main Event race was run.
Arriving on the 4♠A♣J♣10♦3♣ river in a big pot of 550,000, Sebastian Malec shoved all in from under the gun. Miroslav Rizov's 560,000 was covered, and he spent a few minutes in the tank before eventually giving up on the pot with a fold.
During the hand, Oleg Vasylchenko got his stack of 355,000 in from the small blind at another table, being put at risk by Fabricio Nociolini in the cutoff.
Oleg Vasylchenko: 10♦10♣
Fabricio Nociolini: 3♦3♣
Nociolini was down to just two outs after the 4♣J♠5♣Q♣ flop and turn, but he hit one of them on the 3♠ river to send Vasylchenko packing.
Matteo Cecchetti raised to 24,000 from early position, with Toni Kaukua calling in the cutoff and Manuel Ferrari defending from the big blind.
All three players checked through to the river on the 9♠8♣7♠4♥Q♣ runout.
Ferrari checked for the final time and Cecchetti bet 55,000. Kaukua quickly got out of the way, but Ferrari used a few of his time banks before giving it up, allowing Cecchetti to win the pot.
Nacho Barbero raised to 25,000 from middle position and only Gabriel Tavares called from the hijack.
Barbero fired for 20,000 when he saw the 3♥2♣5♥ flop, which Tavares called.
The Q♦ came on the turn and Barbero opted to check-fold to Tavares' bet of 60,000.
Jonas ten Cate raised to 24,000 from the cutoff, which only Pasi Laihinen called on the button.
Ten Cate opted to check-call a bet of 26,000 on a J♠6♦10♣ flop, before the 2♣ turn was checked through. When Ten Cate checked a third time, Laihinen loaded up a bet of 125,000 and sent it into the pot. That was enough to take it down, as Ten Cate returned his cards to the dealer.
