Gutierrez Gone After Cooler Flop

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Elias Gutierrez
Elias Gutierrez

Elias Gutierrez and Gael Djenkal were heads up on the 1086 flop. Gutierrez flicked in a bet of 10,000, which Djenkal raised to 25,000.

Gutierrez retaliated with a three-bet to 70,000, after which Djenkal moved all in. Gutierrez's stack of 150,000 was covered, and he snap-called for his tournament life.

Elias Gutierrez: 88 All in
Gael Djenkal: 97

Gutierrez had run his set into the straight of Djenkal. The 9 turn brought some chop outs, but Gutierrez was officially eliminated once the K hit the river.

The PokerStars Ambassador quietly took his leave, seeing Djenkal chip up to a stack of over 200 big blinds.

Bechahed Triples Up

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Sami Bechahed moved all in for 15,000 under the gun and Ranno Sootla called in middle position. Diogo Duarte then reshoved on the button and Sootla, with around 50,000 remaining, took a minute before folding.

Sami Bechahed: K9 All in
Diogo Duarte: AQ

"I think we had the same hand," Duarte said to Sootla, who shook his head.

"Ace-queen is the hand I wanted to see," Bechahed said as he and Duarte saw the flop came J94. Bechahed took the lead with a pair of nines, and Duarte couldn't catch up on the 2 turn or 3 river as Bechahed tripled up.

"You bust me?" he asked Sootla after the hand.

"No," Sootla replied.

"Yes, Papa!" Nabet's Hero Call Leaves Kisacikoglu on Fumes

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

With around 30,000 in the pot on a board of A343, Orpen Kisacikoglu bet 17,500 from the big blind and Nicolas Nabet called on the button.

The river was the 5 and Kisacikoglu bet 66,500, leaving himself just one 500 chip behind. Nabet went into the tank for a minute, but eventually called.

Kisacikoglu peeked back at his cards and sent them into the muck face down. "Yes, papa!" Nabet shouted out, jumping out of his seat and he slammed down 1010. Nabet ran away from the table in celebration, knocking over a few drinks on the ground in the process as Kisacikoglu could only manage to laugh off the beat.

Abernathy Hits One-Outer to Provide Double Elimination

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Samantha Abernathy
Samantha Abernathy

Samantha Abernathy put in 3,000 for a raise from middle position. Gustavo Morales then moved all in for 20,500 in the hijack, which Florian Ribouchon called on the button.

After some thought, Abernathy reshoved. Ribouchon instantly called off his stack of 75,000, and the players revealed their cards.

Gustavo Morales: AJ All in
Florian Ribouchon: AA All in
Samantha Abernathy: QQ

Ribouchon added a straight flush draw to his pair of aces on the 425 flop, leaving Abernathy with one direct out to scoop. The 4 did nothing for any player, but the Q river gave Abernathy her one out for the winning full house.

Ribouchon instantly mucked his cards and hurried away in disbelief. Abernathy, meanwhile, calmly raked in the big pot, soaring to two and a half times the average stack.

Abdulzahra Doubles Off Zarbo Amid Controversy

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Ali Abdulzahra
Ali Abdulzahra

Ali Abdulzahra had three-bet in the big blind before Giuseppe Zarbo moved all in from the hijack. Abdulzahra called for 55,000.

Ali Abdulzahra: QQ All in
Giuseppe Zarbo: 88

Abdulzahra was ahead with his queens, and the K94310 board kept him in front and earned him a double up.

The action did not end there, however. There was an extra 500 chip in the pot, and Abdulzahra was unsure about whether it was his. Zarbo protested that he shouldn't have to pay off the extra chip, and demanded that tournament officials check the cameras before action continued.

An official informed Zarbo that they weren't going to pause the game, and Zarbo continued to protest for several minutes while the situation was resolved.

Ponomarev Doesn't Fold Under Pressure

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Nikolay Ponomarev
Nikolay Ponomarev

A sizable pot was between Nikolay Ponomarev in the small blind and Sebastian Ionita under the gun. Ponomarev had checked the completed board of 95Q26 over to Ionita, who fired a bet of 62,000.

Ponomarev spent a while in the tank. Eventually, the clock was called on him. His 30-second countdown was nearing its end when Ponomarev hastily tossed in a calling chip.

Ionita could only show a bluff with K10, meaning Ponomarev dragged the big pot with his AQ for top pair.

Van Luijk Doubles Off De La Fouchardiere; Di Vito Puts a Massive Cooler on Parssinen

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Derk van Luijk
Derk van Luijk

After four limps in front of him, Hugo De La Fouchardiere raised to 10,500 in the big blind. The table folded around to Derk van Luijk, who moved all in for 18,000 in the cutoff. De La Fouchardiere called.

Derk van Luijk: AQ All in
Hugo De La Fouchardiere: A7

Van Luijk had De La Fouchardiere dominated, and the 45KJ9 board kept the EPT Monte Carlo champion in front and earned him a double up.

At another table, Domencio Di Vito and Eelis Parssinen went to the river on a board of QKAQJ. Parssinen then bet 6,000 from under the gun, and Di Vito moved all in for 54,000 in the cutoff.

Parssinen let out a laugh and tanked for a minute before calling. Di Vito turned over AQ for a full house, and Parssinen flashed king-queen for a smaller full house as he mucked. The stacks were recounted, and Di Vito barely had Parssinen covered to send the Finnish online star to the rail.

Carlos Marques
Carlos Marques

Carlos Marques raised to 3,000 under the gun and Gianluca Fichera moved all in for his last 15,000 in the hijack. Graeme Newman called in the small blind, but Marques then reraised to 55,000 to chase out Newman.

Gianluca Fichera: AK All in
Carlos Marques: 98

The table expressed surprise when Rocha turned over his cards, with Newman letting out a "wow." The J102 flop kept Fichera in the lead, but Marques hit the 9 on the turn to make a pair. The 8 river improved him to two pair, and Fichera was sent to the rail.
