Tiny Bets Get Abreu Paid

Three-way to the 7♦A♠10♠ flop, Jorge Abreu checked from the small blind to Thierry Gogniat under the gun, who bet 55,000. Zdenek Zizka then raised to 150,000 in the cutoff, which Abreu three-bet to 300,000.

Gogniat had seen enough and folded, but Zizka wanted to see a turn and called for the 9♠ to emerge from the deck.

After using a time extension, Abreu flicked in a relatively tiny bet of 100,000. Zizka called to the Q♦ river, where Abreu again bet 100,000.

Zizka deemed the price too good and called to showdown. Abreu tabled 8♠6♠ for a flush, and Zizka complimented his opponent's hand as he tossed his cards into the muck.

Felix Schneiders raised to 50,000 under the gun and Joris Ruijs called in the big blind.

Schneiders continued for 40,000 on the 10♦2♦7♠ flop, and Ruijs called. The 10♠ turn was checked through, and Ruijs then led out for 65,000 on the 9♣ river. Schneiders quickly called.

Ruijs showed K♥7♦, but Schneiders had A♠A♦ to win the pot.

Jakub Sterba bet 60,000 from the cutoff on a flop of J♥9♣8♦ and Lyudmil Ivanov called on the button. Gabriel Nahum then raised to 200,000 in the big blind, and only Sterba called.

Nahum moved all in on the 2♣ turn, and Sterba snap-called for 490,000. Nahum showed A♠J♦ for top pair, but Sterba had flopped the nut straight with Q♠10♥ to leave Nahum drawing dead. The river was the A♥ and Sterba doubled up.

Big blind Bruno Fuentes and Enrico Coppola in middle position had gathered a sizable pot of around 475,000 before the Q♠10♠A♠ flop was dealt.

Fuentes then bet 100,000, only for Coppola to announce his all-in of 635,000. Fuentes asked for a count and went into the tank.

After spending one time bank, he forfeited the pot to his opponent by mucking his cards.

Ruijs Dodges the River For a Massive Double

Tsugunari Toma raised to 55,000 in early position, and Joris Ruijs called on the button.

The flop came A♣5♣2♥ and Toma bet 65,000. Ruijs then raised to 205,000, and Toma called.

Ruijs bet another 375,000 on the K♥ turn, but this time Toma came back with a raise to 850,000. Ruijs then moved all in for 1,570,000, and Toma took only a few seconds before calling, creating a pot worth nearly 4,000,000.

Ruijs showed 5♠5♦ for a set, while Toma had A♥10♥ for top pair and the nut flush draw. The 8♦ fell on the river, and Ruijs held on to earn the double-up.

Nazar Buhaiov bet 75,000 from middle position on a flop of 9♣8♠2♥ and Paul Runcan called in the big blind.

The turn was the J♠ and Buhaiov bet another 175,000. Runcan then moved all in for 430,000, and Buhaiov snap-called.

Runcan showed A♥J♥ for top pair, but Buhaiov had Q♣Q♦. The river 6♥ was no help to Runcan, and he was sent to the rail.

The next hand at this table, Joshua Boulton raised to 275,000 in middle position and Mihai Tabac called in the hijack.

Boulton checked the A♥10♥9♠ flop, and Tabac bet enough to put Boulton all-in. Boulton had around 40,000 remaining and used up several time banks before calling.

Tabac had flopped top pair to take the lead, and Boulton couldn't catch up on the 8♥ turn and 4♥ river as he followed Runcan to the payout desk.

Two Pots for Zizka

Thierry Gogniat raised to 50,000 in the hijack, getting blinds Zdenek Zizka and Enrico Coppola along to the Q♥4♠6♦ flop. After two checks, Gogniat continued for 45,000, which only Zizka called.

Zizka check-called again when Gogniat bet 75,000 on the 2♣ turn, after which the Q♦ river was checked to showdown.

Zizka tabled 8♥8♦, and was shipped the pot as Gogniat could not beat it.

One hand later, Zizka was on the button and heads up against Bruno Fuentes in the cutoff. With about 250,000 in the pot, both players checked the A♦3♥Q♦A♥ turn.

Fuentes also checked the subsequent J♠ river, but Zizka took the aggressive route with a large bet of 235,000. Fuentes spent some time in the tank, using one of his time banks before settling on a fold.
