Butzhammer Doubles Through Tremzin on the Bubble

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Gleb Tremzin opened to 8,000 from the cut off and his next door neighbor Thomas Butzhammer on the button shoved for 76,500. Both blinds folded and Tremzin made the call after some thinking. After all the hands at the other tables were done, it was time for a showdown.

Tremzin showed {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Butzhammer was at risk with his {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. Luckily for Butzhammer the board stayed clear of eights and other harmful cards: {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Double up!

Kui Doubles Through Sotiropoulos on the Bubble

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Georgios Sotiropoulos raised from under the gun plus one before Kenneth Kui moved all in for his remaining 28,000 in chips. The action folded back around to Sotiropoulos who made the call.

The pair had to wait for the rest of the tables to complete their hands before tabling their cards. A few minutes passed, and with all action over, the cards were shown.

Sotiropoulos: {4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Kui: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Kui was at risk and faded the river as the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs} to see him double up to 64,000 in chips.

With 160 players remaining, the staff is breaking up one table. After that the tournament will play hand for hand till the bubble bursts.

Bubble Bustouts

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The bubble has started as several people busted quickly right after each other.

Rhys Jones lost all of his chips with {A-}{K-} against {K-}{J-}. Maxim Panyak lost with {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} from the big blind to Jonathan Wong's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} as the board came out {Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}.

At the same time Andrea Benelli busted as well. Benelli got his last 70,000 in with {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} against Fabio Sperling's {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The board was {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Sperling got up to 415,000.

Dion Takes A Pot Then Busts Jones

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

There was an open to 9,000 and Davisi Kitai called before Yann Dion raised to 31,000. The initial raiser folded and Kitai made the call.

The flop was {3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} and Kitai check-called a bet of 38,000 from Dion. The turn card {6-Hearts} and river {4-Hearts} were both checked and Dion turned over the winning {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Kitai showed him his {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

Dion opened the next hand and called a shove from Rhys Jones who didn’t have much behind and tabled {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. He was in good shape against the {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Dion but the cards had other ideas as they ran out {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} to eliminate Jones.

More Chip Counts from Across the Room

Carlsson’s Jacks No Good

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Vladislav Donchev opened for 9,000 and then faced a 38,500 shove from Daniel Carlsson.

Donchev took a while to call but in the end he did with {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to put Carlsson at risk with his {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

The gamble turned out well for Donchev as the cards ran out {5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} but not so well for Carlsson as he was eliminated short of the money.
