No 3 Strikes for Haenraets

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Bram Haenraets from The Netherlands had a nice "streak" going, but it wouldn't last. Haenraets cashed in both European Poker Tour events this season so far, finishing 9th in Barcelona for €92,800 and 21st in London for £17,300, but has just been eliminated from the tournament so he didn't go 3 out of 3.

After losing a huge hand late last night, kings lost to ace-king, he started today with just ten big blinds. He shoved from the cutoff first but got no callers, but his shove from the hijack the next hand did get called. Haenraets showed pocket deuces and was up against Anirudh Seth's {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop brought {8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts} and the {A-Clubs} on the turn made things official already. The {4-} on the river was of no importance and Haenraets made his exit.

Altman Stacks His Chip

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Chip leader Brain Altman emptied his bagged up chips on to the table at the start of play but before he could stack them all he opened the action for 6,000 and got called by Emil Mattson and the player in the small blind.

The flop was {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} and Altman continued for 12,000. Mattson called and the small blind folded. The turn card {k-Diamonds} and the river card {3-Spades} were checked and Altman’s {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} lost out to the {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} of Mattson.

Altman continued to stack his chips but has a few less to add to his tower.

Johnny Lodden

Vyacheslav Stoyanov opened under the gun and action folded to Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden in the big blind. The Norwegian former high stakes cashgame player shoved all in for a little under 60,000 and Stoyanov made the call after some thinking.

Stoyanov had {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Lodden tabled pocket tens. The board came {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and with a rivered flush for Stoyanov, Lodden exited.

Szabo Doubles Through Nordh

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We arrived at the table with the board showing {10-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Both Zoltan Szabo and Gustav Nordh had committed all their chips in on the flop before tabling their cards.

Szabo: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Nordh: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Szabo was all in for 156,100 in chips and in great shape to double with the flopped set of aces. Nordh had numerous outs to a straight and flush but would not get there as the board ran out the {5-Hearts} and {10-Spades}.

Nordh started the day second in chips but has fallen to 390,000 after losing that hand.

Michalak Busts to Grafton

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Jakub Michalak three-bet shoved with {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts} and Sam Grafton as initial raiser called with {4-Diamonds} {4-Spades}. The ISPT Wembley winner was drawing dead by the turn of a {10-Spades} {7-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {9-Clubs} board and headed to the rail. Another early seat open was Daniel Fereira.

Katchalov Doubles in Cooler Situation

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

On a flop of {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov in the small blind checked to his neighbor Atanas Malinov on the button. The man from Bulgaria bet 12,200 and Katchalov raised to 28,000. After some thinking it was Malinov who pushed all in and Katchalov called after one more check of his cards.

Malinov had {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} but was behind as Katchalov showed {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Malinov had just a few outs and wouldn't hit them; {10-Diamonds} on the turn and {j-Clubs} on the river.

Wiesler Doubles through Zaichenko

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Two short stacks were already all in but didn't receive a call, Bjorn Wiesler was then the first player at risk. Joining the action on a flop of {Q-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {4-Spades}, the German check-raised from 8,000 to 20,000 out of the big blind and Andrey Zaichenko called. On the {6-Clubs} turn, Wiesler moved all in for 46,900. "I show you too," Wiesler said and maybe 20 seconds later the Day 1b chip leader called.

Wiesler: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}
Zaichenko: {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}

The {8-Spades} river was a blank and Wiesler doubled. Zaichenko nodded and then said "nice hand" before shipping over the chips.
