Early Present For Altman

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Franco Cantarella was tangling with Brian Altman in a pot and shoved the turn of a board reading {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

Altman made the call with {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and was shown the {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} of Cantarella who was drawing dead. The river was the {6-Spades} and when Cantarella had left the table another player addressed Altman, “Nice present for you. Early Christmas.”

Nguyen Eliminated by Bertilsson

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Minh Nguyen Quang was all in for his last 40,000 chips with {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} and was called by Anton Bertilsson from one seat over. The Czech had a nice sweat with the {6-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades} flop and even picked up a gutshot on the {Q-Clubs} turn, but the {8-Spades} river sent him to the rail.

Pleticha Eliminated by Kitai

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Davidi Kitai raised to 10,000 from the hijack before Tomas Pleticha moved all in for his remaining 14,000 from the cut off. Eugene Katchalov made the call from the big blind as the decision fell back on Kitai.

He asked if he could raise which received a few laughs from some players at the table as well as the dealer. He was informed he couldn’t, so he made the call.

The flop came down {4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} and Katchalov checked. Kitai quickly threw out 12,500 in chips which was enough to get Katchalov to fold.

Kitai: {k-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Pleticha: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Pleticha was in great shape to double up with the higher pair but the board ran out the {8-Spades} and {a-Spades} to give Kitai a flush and the winning hand.

Another Former EPT Winner Exits

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jannick Wrang
Jannick Wrang

Yannick Wrang was just seen exiting the tournament area. On his way to the payout desk, he told us that he pushed over a middle position open with his {K-}{Q-} suited. The initial raiser made the call holding {A-}{J-}.

Wrang, who won the PokerStars European Poker Tour in Campione back in season 8, flopped a two of the suits he needed for a flush, but the draw stayed a draw and Wrang had to get up from the table and gather his belongings.

Wrang exited in 134th place, netting the former EPT winner €9,610. Liv Boere, Davidi Kitai and Remi Castaignon are the only former winners still left in this tournament, can they become the second two-time winner after Vicky Coren?

Castaignon Doubles Again

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Remi Castaignon had been all in on the bubble with nines and now all his chips were in the middle again. Rafal Chojecki made the call to put him at risk again, though this time they were both in the money.

Castaignon had found another pair, this time {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and was against the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} of Chojecki.

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Spades} and Castaignon doubled up again while Chojecki was left short.

Haxton Eliminated by Graner

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

Team PokerStars Online Pro Isaac Haxton raised to 10,000 from under the gun plus one. The action folded around to Stephen Graner in small blind who raised it up to 73,000 in chips. The big blind folded as the decision fell back on Haxton. The raise had him covered and he deliberated over his call for a few minutes. Eventually he made the call and the cards where tabled.

Haxton: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Graner: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}

“Wow! Glad I didn’t fold,” said Haxton, after seeing he was ahead of Graner’s cards.

Unfortunately, the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} to see Graner spike a seven on the flop to win the hand.

Grafton Gaining

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton had quite a profitable bubble period, winning a couple of nice pots when he was dealt back to back aces. He joked with the French dealer that he was making it too obvious and he should mix it up a bit and deal him kings from time to time instead.

Grafton had earlier tweeted a picture of the player on his left, Dylan Linde, to find out more about him and then doubled him up. Since then they have been getting on famously but there are no friends at the poker table.

Grafton opened for 11,000 and Linde three-bet to 28,000. It folded back round to Grafton who asked how much he started with and heard it was around 230,000. A short time for Grafton to weigh up his decision and then he flicked his cards away.

Kamel Doubles Hartmann

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Tamer Kamel opened to 10,500 from the cutoff and Pascal Hartmann on the button made it 23,000. Both blinds, including a severely short stacked Jannick Wrang, folded, but Kamel pushed all in. Hartmann called if of for 113,000 total and showed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Kamel tabled {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

The {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} board didn't help Kamel and he handed 113,000 of his well earned chips to his neighbor.
