H-108: $10,300 Super MILLION$ [2-day event]

Day 1 Started

Welcome to Day 1 of GG Spring Festival Event H-108: $10,300 Super MILLION$

GG Spring Festival
GG Spring Festival

The final day of the massive 2021 GG Spring Festival awaits with millions upon millions in guaranteed prize pools. Among the highlights on the tournament schedule for today is certainly Event H-108: $10,300 Super MILLION$, which comes with a $3 million guarantee. It is the third time during the series that this event runs and many well-known poker pros are expected to join the fray.

The structure remains the same with stacks of 100,000 and levels of 15 minutes each until the nine-handed final table. Plenty of time will be available for players to jump in as the late registration with unlimited re-entries is open for a total of six hours. With the action kicking off at 6.05 pm GMT, the final cut will be made just after midnight GMT.

Almost 60 players are signed up some 90 minutes prior to the start. Among them are featured GGPoker Network players such as Pete Chen, Anatoly Filatov, Rainer Kempe, Koray Aldemir, Niall Farrell, Wiktor Malinowski, Alex Foxen, and Stefan Schillhabel. Other usual suspects already enrolled include Francisco Benitez, Ami Barer, David Coleman, Sam Greenwood, Ronny Kaiser, Patrick Leonard, Jack Salter, Joakim Andersson, Andras Nemeth, Eelis Pärssinen, and Connor Drinan.

Andersson just recently took down the GGSF Super MILLION$ ME-H for more than $1.5 million and will be eager to add another victory to his resume. Stay tuned to find out who will get involved today as the PokerNews team will provide as many key hands as possible. Day 1 is slated to play down to the nine-handed final table, which then concludes on the following Tuesday.

Kempe vs Touil

Alexandru Papazian raised to 1,250 and was called by Rainer Kempe in the cutoff, Fabrice Touil three-bet in the small blind and Kempe was the only caller. Touil continued for 4,683 on the {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop to earn a call and bet another 23,556 on the {8-Clubs} turn, picking up another call.

Touil jammed the {5-Hearts} river for 65,161 and Kempe tank-called with {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} to get shown a superior set in {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. That left the German with 500 chips, which he lost right after.

Andersson Chips Up Through Leonard

Level 1 : 250/500, 60 ante

Patrick Leonard three-bet to 5,200 out of the small blind only for Joakim to four-bet out of the big blind, making it 13,550 to go. Guillaume Nolet as the initial raiser folded and Leonard called. On a flop of {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Leonard opted to check-call for 6,944 and the {q-Spades} turn went check, check.

The {5-Hearts} river completed the board and Leonard checked once more. Andersson now fired 27,614 and that took down the pot uncontested.
