A Big River for Baron

Greenstein does it for Baron
Greenstein does it for Baron

Level 15: 3,500/7,000/850

Isaac Baron raised to 14,000 in middle position and Daniel Dvoress called one seat over. Action folded to Aliaksandr Hirs in the small blind, who three-bet shoved all in for 91,300.

Baron came over the top for 301,700, almost all of his remaining stack, Dvoress shoved, and Baron called it off for 26,758 more.

Aliaksandr Hirs: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Isaac Baron: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Daniel Dvoress: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop kept the kings of Hirs in the lead, while Baron was trailing Dvoress for the side pot. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn was a brick, but the {a-Hearts} on the river certainly not. Baron spiked one of his three outs, crippling Dvoress and eliminating Hirs in the process.

Top Stacks in the Break

Lev "LevMeAlone" Gottlieb has fired 6 shells in the event thus far, but is finally finding some traction as he sits third in chips.

Fan to the Top

A hidden straight for Fan
A hidden straight for Fan

The current chip leader in the tournament is Taiwan's Chin Wei "FanChihWei" Fan, who's the only player sitting over 800k in stack on 2/3rds of the day. One of Fan's key hand to climb the leaderboard was with {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, when he sneakily hit the river on Georgios Sotiropoulos on a seemingly safe looking {q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades} board.

Sotiropoulos, holding {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}, bet 43,024 on the river and called off about 75k or so more when Fan check-raised the river all in. The Greek subsequently rebought himself back into the event.

Malinowski Surging With Big Hands

Wiktor Malinowski
Wiktor Malinowski

Level 14: 2,250/4,500/550

A few hands ago, Wiktor Malinowski picked up a pair of aces to send "sibel chan" to the rail who held sixes. Now, the Polish cash gamer got it in again, this time holding {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} against the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} of "ULMFKR".

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for Malinowski to river the nut flush and crest half a mill in the process.

Bada Bink!

Big pot from Crema
Big pot from Crema

Level 12: 1,800/3,600/450

Thiago "Bada Bing!" Crema made it 7,200 in middle position and Mikhail "Freez112" Kovalyuk peeled from the small blind. The flop was {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and Kovalyuk check-called 7,128 from Crema.

The turn brought another ace, the {a-Diamonds}, and Crema upped the ante to 28,800. Kovalyuk check-raised to 61,200 and Crema called.

On the {3-Spades} river, Kovalyuk went all in for 68,642 and Crema snapped him off. Kovalyuk shoved {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} but was second best to Crema's {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to end his run.
