Day 1D of the 2025 GOLIATH is officially underway, and another huge crowd is expected to pack out the Grosvenor G Casino in Coventry.

Players will start with a 25,000 chip stack, with blinds beginning at 100/100. The structure features 18 levels of play, with the first 14 levels lasting 30 minutes, and levels 15–18 stretched to 40 minutes each.

There will be 30-minute breaks after Levels 4 and 8, and a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 12. Late registration will remain open until the dinner break is over, so if you’re running late, you’ve still got time to get in the mix.

GOLIATH
GOLIATH

It’s another busy day at the 2025 GOLIATH, with five events taking place throughout the Grosvenor G Casino in Coventry.

Flight D of the £200 GOLIATH gets underway at 12 p.m., as players continue their quest to bag a Day 2 stack in the festival’s flagship event. With each flight drawing massive fields so far, expect another packed house chasing a deep run.

Also restarting at noon is the final day of the £1,500 High Roller. Just nine players remain, all eyeing the £75,170 top prize from a £338,580 prize pool.

For those looking to play big, the £3,000 Super High Roller also begins at 12 p.m. Players start with 50,000 chips, with 40-minute levels and 20-minute breaks every three levels. Late registration is open through Level 9, and this two-day event will play down deep into the evening before wrapping up Day 1.

At 6 p.m., it’s time for the four-card lovers to shine in the £250 PLO event. It’s a single-day tournament and should bring out some action-heavy play.

And finally, the last chance to enter the £440 Cardroom Direct Mystery Bounty kicks off at 7 p.m. If you’re hoping to pull one of those juicy bounties in tomorrow’s Day 2, tonight’s your final opportunity to bag up a stack and get in the mix.

Another huge crowd poured into Grosvenor Casino Coventry on Monday as 1,498 players took their shot in Day 1C of the 2025 GOLIATH.

That makes it the biggest flight so far, pushing the overall entries to 6,188 (inclusive of pre-registrants) and we’re still only halfway through the schedule.

After 18 levels of play, 115 players punched their ticket to Day 2, which takes place on Saturday and will play down to the final 10% of the overall field.

Topping the Day 1C chip counts were two anonymous players, listed as K H and A J M, who bagged 1,350,000 and 1,113,000 respectively. Both players enter Day 2 with over 100 big blinds and will be serious contenders if they maintain that momentum. Winston Edwards, Scott Brown, and John Hanley round out the top five, each bagging more than 700,000 chips.

2023 GOLIATH Champ Todd Makes High Roller Final Table

Alex Todd

After two full days of action, the £1,500 High Roller is down to its final table. From a field of 264 entries, just nine players remain in the hunt for the £75,170 top prize, with each already guaranteed £8,130 for making it this far.

The final table kicks off at 12 p.m., with the live stream getting underway shortly after at 12:20 p.m. over on Grosvenor Poker’s YouTube channel.

Tianyi Jiang leads the way with 4.9 million chips (49 BBs), followed by Ciaran Mccullagh and Ahmed Abdin, who sit neck and neck with just under 4 million apiece. There’s still plenty of play in the stacks, with a wide open race to the trophy.

One of the most notable names at the table is Alex Todd, who famously won the 2023 GOLIATH Main Event, topping a then-record 11,493 entries.

Todd turned a £150 buy-in into a life-changing £178,860, winning the trophy after a six-way deal. The Englishman has since been playing tournaments full time across the world, and regularly posts poker content on his socials which is always makes for good viewing. Now, he finds himself with another shot at GOLIATH glory, this time in the High Roller spotlight.

Ravi Sheth Claims Second GUKPT Title in Record-Breaking Main Event

Ravi Sheth

The biggest-ever GUKPT Main Event came to a close, with rising star Ravi Sheth taking down the £1,250 buy-in tournament for a career-best £192,700.

A total of 1,023 entries created a massive prize pool, and all eyes were on Richard Trigg and Katie Swift at the final table as both looked to make their own slice of GUKPT history.

Trigg was chasing a record-breaking fourth GUKPT Main Event title, but his bid fell just short with a fourth-place finish for £74,400. Swift, meanwhile, was aiming to become the first woman to win a GUKPT Main Event. After finishing runner-up in Luton last September, she once again made a deep run but bowed out in sixth place, earning £38,480.

In the end, it was Sheth who stole the spotlight. The young Brit sealed his second GUKPT Main Event title, following his win in Blackpool last November, and confirmed his place as one of the UK circuit’s deadliest players.

Sheth defeated Simon Willson heads-up to claim the trophy, with Willson banking £140,580 for his impressive runner-up finish. Josh Curry rounded out the podium in third for £102,420.
