Kane Kalas recently bought into the tournament and has taken a seat at the table on the edge of the room. Kalas nearly became a WPT champion last year, falling to Darren Elias heads up at WPT Borgata Championship during the latter's run of back-to-back wins. Kalas still banked more than $500,000 for that score.
Mark Rebuck opened under the gun and then called a three-bet to 2,700 from Alex Queen, who was in middle position. Rebuck check-called 3,200 on the flop, and the turn went check-check when the hit. Rebuck checked the , and Queen bet 7,000. Rebuck thought for about 30 seconds and called, and Queen showed and took the pot with top pair.
Hockey Hock defended his small blind from a 900 raise out of the hijack, and he check-called 1,100 on a flop. Action checked through on the turn, and a river prompted another check from Hock. His opponent bet 1,100, and Hock thought about a minute before holding his cards over the muck. His opponent showed for an airball though, and Hock showed for the win.
We found Ethan Dolan standing up, considering the all-in shove of a player in the big blind on a flop. Dolan had made it 4,000 from the button and saw his opponent, who led with 1,800, jam with a stack that covered Dolan.
"Alright, if you have a set, nice hand," Dolan said, pushing all of his chips in.

Big blind:
No set for Dolan's opponent, just a dominated two pair. Runner aces hit the board, and Dolan took 22,375 total from his foe.
A player on the button opened for a raise then called off his whole stack of about 7,500 when Dario Milas shoved from the big blind.

The flop came , and a murmur went through the table after the three-outer. Milas wasn't dead yet though, and after a turn he managed to find the river to get the unlikely knockout.
One player who showed up some time after the first break is Alex Queen. Queen is a familiar face at the World Series of Poker in the summer, as he's made numerous deep runs but has yet to secure himself a bracelet. He's racked up enough cashes to sail well into seven figures though, totaling more than $1.3 million on his live tournament resume. Queen hails from Bethlehem, Pa., just a short drive from Hollywood Casino Grantville.
