Chip Counts From the Other Half

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Blind Vs. Blind

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In a relatively rare occurrence at a full table, the table folded to James Anderson in the small blind, who raised to 7,000. Apter stole a glance at Anderson before calling.

Action went check-check on the {k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop and {2-Spades} turn.

The {5-Spades} river dropped, and Anderson snap-bet 9,000. Apter called just as quickly, and Anderson showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for ace-high, the winner until Apter's {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} paired up on the river.

Chip Counts From Half the Room

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With Warner in One Corner

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Just after the blinds rose to 1,000/2,000/2,000, Cory Warner opened to 6,000 from under the gun. Devin Tucker found a hand in middle position and three-bet jammed for barely more than twice that—12,500. Action folded to Jeffrey Roberson in the small blind, who four-bet to 30,000. Back on Warner, he quickly five-bet shoved, covering Roberson. Roberson folded.

Devin Tucker: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Cory Warner: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Warner couldn't catch a miracle on {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, and the tournament lost another player.

Brad Smith was all in and at risk for his last 35,000 against Chris Moon in middle position.

Brad Smith: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Chris Moon: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

McBrayer Makes a Huge Call to Double Through Reichard

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Josh Reichard
Josh Reichard

With around 80,000 already in the pot, BJ McBrayer checked a {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Spades} board to Josh Reichard, who jammed to put McBrayer at risk for his last 152,700.

McBrayer went into the tank for three minutes before placing a column of chips in the pot to call, and after Reichard tabled {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, McBrayer turned over {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} for a pair of queens, good for a big double. Reichard was left with 32,000 in chips and busted one hand later.

Mike Shin

Mike Shin had his last 59,800 in from middle position on a {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Spades} flop, and Justin Coliny had him at risk in the hijack.

Mike Shin: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Justin Coliny: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Shin's aces held on the {3-Hearts} turn and {j-Hearts} river to score the double.

Dub for Burgess with Lucky Ladies

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Mark Burgess opened to 3,500 from middle position, and action folded around to Johanssy Joseph in the small blind, who three-bet large to 19,500.

When the flop fell {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Joseph continued for more than the pot—45,000. Raised all in for 79,500 total.

"I didn't see you had a 25k," said Joseph with a smile, referring to Burgess' single tan 25,000 chip, new to play today. Joseph took his time counting his stack, apologizing to the table for the wait.

"It's obvious what I have," he said, continuing to think it over for several minutes. "I'm hoping you have like, 2-3," he joked as he pushed in the call.

Mark Burgess: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Johanssy Joseph: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Joseph couldn't pair up on the {2-Hearts} turn or {5-Hearts} river, affording Burgess the double.
