Matt Higgins
Matt Higgins

Justin Coliny raised to 25,000 from under the gun, and Matt Higgins called on the button.

Coliny bet 25,000 on the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop, and Higgins raised to 94,000. Coliny three-bet shoved for 235,000 effective and Higgins snap-called.

Justin Coliny: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Matt Higgins: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Higgins had a plethora of outs to best the ace-high of Coliny, but the {8-Diamonds} turn and {4-Diamonds} river left him wanting.

"You thought he had a flush draw?" Neil Patel asked Coliny, who shrugged and said, "I don't know what the f*** he had, honestly," with a big grin on his face.

Ryan Hohner busted at the same time at another table.

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Bradley Smith and David Wasson were off to a flop heads up with 48,000 in the middle, which came down {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

Patel Spikes Open-Ender on River, Gets Value

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action folded to Matt Higgins on the button, and he opened to 20,000. Neil Patel called in the small blind, and BJ McBrayer defended his big.

The dealer spread {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and Higgins continued for 30,000 when checked to. Only Patel called.

Both players quickly checked the {6-Clubs} turn. The {3-Hearts} river fell, putting four to a straight on the board. Patel started to grab chips, then moved his hands back to the sides of his face. He returned to his stack and dropped 55,000 across the line.

Martinez Ain't Done Yet

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Justin Coliny raised to 18,000, then called a three-bet shove from Nikolas Martinez next to act.

Nikolas Martinez: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Justin Coliny: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Coliny was looking to make lightning strike twice with the jack-nine of clubs, and he found a jack on the {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop to take the lead.

"Is that his heater hand?" Martinez asked with a grin.

The {q-Hearts} turn and {10-Spades} river ran out to give Martinez Broadway, and he clapped and said, "I am hard to kill!" before continuing his spin up from an under one big blind stack just a few levels ago.

Davidson Out, Nick Pupillo Crowned Season XV HPT Player of the Year

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Nick Davidson
Nick Davidson

Nick Davidson was the last player in the running to overcome Nick Pupillo for HPT Player of the Year, and he would have had to win the tournament to score enough points to do it.

He found himself flipping versus James Burns, but the flop left him far behind.

Nick Davidson: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
James Burns: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The dealer spread {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, and Davidson patiently awaited the turn and river with two outs remaining in the deck. The {2-Spades} turn and {9-Diamonds} river changed nothing, and Pupillo officially claims the Season XV HPT Player of the Year award.
