Barbero Loses Some

An early position player limped and action folded around to Team PokerStars Pro Nacho Barbero in the big blind who checked his option.

The flop fell {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} and both players checked. The {10-Diamonds} hit the turn and Barbero bet 2,000. His opponent threw out a min-raise, making it 4,000 to go. Barbero called and both players checked the {2-Diamonds} river. Barbero's opponent tabled {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Barbero shot his hand to the muck.

Guillen on a Tear

Angel Guillen Running Good
Angel Guillen Running Good

Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen has had a massive influx of chips as of late.

We caught up with the action on a {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop to find Guillen bet 4,600. His opponent called from the button and the {A-Diamonds} turned. Guillen checked and his opponent fired a bet of 7,400. Guillen waited a moment before making the call.

The river came {4-Clubs} and Guillen checked once again. His opponent took his time in betting 20,000 and Guillen casually tossed in four blue T5,000 chips, calling instantly. His opponent shook his head and slapped his hand on the table. {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Guillen showed {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a flopped set and was able to scoop the pot.

The very next next, Guillen raised to 2,500 from under the gun and was met with a three-bet to 7,500 from Luiz Filipe Andrade. Guillen called and the flop came {3-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Both players checked and the {3-Spades} fell on fourth street. Once again, both players opted to check.

The river brought a fourth heart in the form of the {10-Hearts}. Andrade checked for a third time and Guillen put out a bet of 18,000. Andrade quickly and confidently called, but a dejected expression wiped over his face when he saw Guillen table {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} for an ace-high flush. Andrade flipped up {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for a queen-high flush and could only stare as the pot was pushed toward Guillen.

Six-Minute Hand...No Flop

The action started with a raise to 2,700 from the hijack by Bolivar Palacios. The player on the button three-bet to 6,100 after a few moments. Palacaio went into the tank for about 60 seconds before four-betting to 14,700. His opponent opted to five-bet, but did so after about three minutes in the tank. He settled on 24,000, putting the action back on Palacios. Another minute in the tank later, Palacios gave it up.

Pedro Komaromi Wins with the Better Trip Nines

While last year's champion, Alex Komaromi, may have hit the rail today, his father Pedro is still in the hunt for the title. We got to the table to find Komaromi call the all in of his opponent on a board of {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

Komaromi: {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Opponent: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Komaromi was ahead and retained his lead through the {6-Hearts} on the river. Komaromi reduced the field by one and built his stack up to 99,000 with that win.
