Day 2 Awaits

Juan Garcia
Juan Garcia

Welcome to PokerNews' coverage of Day 2 of LAPT Punta del Este. Thursday's Day 1 drew a field of 375 players and following six levels of action, Juan Garcia leads the remaining 245 players. He bagged a stack of 134,650 and was one of only two players to crack the six-figure chip mark on Day 1.

Team PokerStars was well represented on Day 1 and while Christian de Leon, Leo Fernandez, and Andre Akkari were eliminated, Angel Guillen (24,000), Nacho Barbero (22,650), and Humberto Brenes (16,825) will each be back for Day 2. Also still in hunt is defending champion Alex Komaromi (37,075).

We expect another six levels to be played on Day 2 with play getting started at 1pm local time, just more than an hour from now. Be sure to keep it here throughout the day for updates on all of the action!

For now, check out the sites around town, and here at the Mantra Resort Spa & Casino with Lynn Gilmartin:
