Kataev Extends Lead With Bullets

Level 19 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Dmitry Kataev opened the cutoff with AA to 240,000 and Ivan Pavlov called from the small blind with KQ. Henrik Brockmann was in the big blind and also came along with Q10.

The flop came K29 and when it checked to Kataev, he bet 200,000. Pavlov counted out raising chips and made it 650,000 to go, which got Brockmann to fold. Kataev took a few moments before he called.

When the 6 landed on the turn, Pavlov improved to a flush draw and fired out a seven-figure bet of 1,000,000. Kataev quickly called with his aces.

A 4 fell on the river and after using some extra time, Pavlov checked it over to Kataev, who fired out 1,800,000. Pavlov quickly folded.

Cankurtaranli Makes the Perfect Value Bet

Level 19 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Sergiu Covrig opened the action with a raise to 250,000 from early position, and Tahsin Cankurtaranli defended out of the big blind.

The two players checked all the way to the river on the runout of 466Q6 before Cankurtaranli put out a bet of 200,000. Covrig called and Cankurtaranli flipped over AJ for ace-high, which was good as Covrig mucked his hand.

Hartman Doesn't Pull the Trigger

Level 19 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Pascal Hartman had opened from under the gun with K8 and Nenad Dukic defended from the big blind with A9.

The two saw a flop of 276 where Dukic check-called a bet of 180,000 from Hartman to see an A fall on the turn. Again Dukic checked, and again Hartman fired, this time for 680,000. Dukic called.

A 5 completed the runout and with his pair of aces, Dukic checked it over. Hartman pondered for some time, perhaps debating whether to bluff, but decided against it and knuckled back, allowing Dukic to take the pot.

Tomescu Heads For an Early Shower

Level 19 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

George Tomescu shoved for 1,600,000 from the cutoff and Dmitry Kataev called from the big blind.

George Tomescu: K9 All in
Dmitry Kataev: A10

Tomescu needed to improve and although he hit a pair on the KA2 flop, Kataev hit an ace to retain the lead. A Q on the turn changed nothing, and neither did the 10 river, sending Tomescu to the rail.

Dukic's River Bet Wins It

Nenad Dukic opened to 250,000 from the cutoff and Pascal Hartman three-bet to 700,000 from the button. Once the blinds folded, Dukic callled.

The flop came 9810 and both decided to tap the table to the J turn, where again both decided to check.

On the 6 river, Dukic reached for chips and threw out a bet of 275,000. Hartman riffled his chips for a while and eventually laid it down.

Alexandru Lupuleac
Alexandru Lupuleac

Alexandru Lupuleac got his last 1,450,000 into the middle preflop from the cutoff, after Natan Chauskin min-raised from middle position. After the rest of the table folded, Chauskin called and the cards were revealed.

Alexandru Lupuleac: A10 All in
Natan Chauskin: KK

Lupuleac needed to find an ace or some diamonds if he was to make his second major final table at the 2025 MPP. The board ran out KJ475 to give Chauskin the best hand with a set of kings, sending Lupuleac to the rail.

Lake Takes from Langar

Level 19 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Langar continued with a bet of 230,000 on the K97 flop and Lake instantly called.

The Q turn caused Langar to slow down and check. Lake fired 500,000, and after a few moments, Langar called.

Langar checked for the last time on the 4 river, and then folded after Lake put out a bet of roughly 1,000,000.

State Doubles Early

Level 19 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Adrian State
Adrian State

When it folded to Zorlu Er in the small blind, he raised to roughly 360,000 with just Adrian State to get through in the big blind. State made the call with only around 240,000 remaining in his stack.

Both players checked the 926 flop to see the A roll off on the turn. Er bet enough to put State all in, and State went into the tank. After burning through around five of his time bank cards, State made the call.

Adrian State: K8 All in
Zorlu Er: J5

State was ahead with king-high and just had to fade a jack or five that wasn't a diamond to double. The river was the 5 to give State a flush, and he earned the much-needed double-up on one of the first hands on Day 3.
