Mouwad Triples, Mokrani Takes Side Pot Against Foggin

Joseph Mouwad shoved for 158,000 from the cutoff and Marc Foggin called from the button. Mohamed Mokrani also came along from the big blind.

They went to a flop of 3♥7♦2♥ where Mokrani check-called a bet of 130,000 from Foggin, then the action checked to showdown on the 5♥Q♣ runout.

Mouwad showed 7♥7♣ for a set, Foggin showed 8♥8♣ for pocket eights, and Mokrani tabled J♣J♥. Mokrani's jacks were good for the side pot, and Mouwad tripled up after he claimed the main pot.

Foggin raised to 20,000 from under the gun and Dumitru Pora shoved from the cutoff for around 160,000. When it got back to Foggin, he quickly called.

Dimitrios Barmpathanasis recently surpassed 2,000,000 chips in a hand that was relayed to Pokernews by his tablemates.

Barmpathanasis opened from the hijack and called a 75,000 three-bet from Mikhail Zavoloka who was in the cutoff. Barmpathanasis then check-called three streets on a board of K♣8♣6x10x10x. Barmpathanasis had kings up with AxKx to take another big pot from Zavoloka, who is now below the chip average after starting the day with the second-largest stack.

There were around 400,000 chips already in the pot on a board of 2♠3♠7♣3♣5♥ when Kirill Shcherbakov checked it over to Oleg Ustinovich, who fired a small bet of 80,000. Shcherbakov snap-called.

Ustinovich then revealed trips with J♥3♥, and Shcherbakov mucked.

It's been a rough start of Shcherbakov, who started the day as chip leader, but has lost over two thirds of his mountain and only has around 500,000 chips remaining.

Spyridon Apartoglou opened from under the gun to 24,000 and Fredrico Senno made it 75,000 to go from the next seat. When the action got back to Apartoglou, he called.

They saw a flop of 4♣10♠J♠ where Apartoglou check-called a bet of 40,000 from Senno to see the 6♦ turn. Again, Apartoglou went into check-call mode when Senno fired 90,000.

The river brought a 3♠ and both players quickly checked it down. Apartoglou showed Q♠Q♥, but Senno held K♠K♥ to take the pot.
