The 2024 PokerStars North American Poker Tour Las Vegas $5,300 Main Event will play down to a winner this weekend, but there has been plenty of side event action throughout the past week. Johnson Drills the Turn to Double Through Manganaro

Jeff Madsen opened to 26,000 from middle position before Marco Johnson moved all-in for 321,000 from the hijack. In the small blind, Nicholas Manganaro rejammed for slightly more and Madsen folded.

The AQ2 vaulted Manganaro into the lead until the 10 on the turn gave Johnson a set. Manganaro was drawing to four jacks which did not come on the 5 river as Johnson doubled while Manganaro was left on life support.

Maria Konnikova opened to 25,000 in middle position and Nick Marchington called from the hijack before Matt Affleck three-bet jammed a stack of 279,000 from the big blind. Konnikova folded and Marchington called.

Affleck survived the flip as the board ran out 567QQ to earn him a double.

Hart Versus Marchington

Brent Hart opened to 25,000 from middle position and Nick Marchington defended from the big blind.

Both players checked the AA6 flop leading to the 5 turn. Marchington bet 45,000 and Hart called. Both players then checked the K river. Marchington had a missed flush draw with Q9 while Hart turned over two pair with 99 to take the pot.

Bohmerwald Picks Off Mugar

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

In a blind versus blind battle, Peter Mugar bet 30,000 on a flop of 925 and Michael Bohmerwald called.

Both players checked the 8 turn and the 3 fell on the river. Mugar then bet another 55,000 and Bohmerwald again called.

Mugar showed 104 for a bluff and Bohmerwald turned over K5 for a pair of fives to win the pot.

Li Pips Wilson

Yang Li opened to 24,000 from middle position and Brock Wilson defended from the big blind.

The flop came KJ4 and Wilson check-called a 12,000 bet from Li.

Wilson check-called another bet from Li on the 4 turn, this time for 16,000. Both players then checked the 3 river.

Wilson showed down two pair with 77 but Li had him beat with 88 to take the pot.

Cold Four-Bet Pot Results in Chop

Jeff Madsen opened to 26,000 from under the gun and Marco Johnson three-bet to 79,000 from the next seat.

Micka then four-bet to 150,000 on the button and Madsen folded as Johnson called four-bet jammed for around 300,000. Micka called with a bigger stack.

The two players had the same hand and chopped up the pot as the board ran out J874A.
