Peters Bubbles the PokerStars Open Main Event in a Cooler

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Donnie Peters
Donnie Peters

Adam Lopez raised to 11,000 from under the gun and Donnie Peters mulled it over from the cutoff before ripping in the last of his 73,000 chips. The action folded back to Lopez who quickly called and the cards were tabled.

Donnie Peters: AKAll in
Adam Lopez: AA

Peters ran into the one hand that he didn't want to see and the flop of 988 left things looking grim. The Q on the turn left Peters drawing dead to the K on the river. Peters was the lone elimination on that hand, leaving the remaining 135 players all guaranteed at least a min-cash of $1,750.

Bin Duan raised to 12,000 in the hijack, Kyle Grosshanten moved all in for 27,000 in the small blind, and Duan called.

Kyle Grosshanten: KK All in
Bin Duan: KQ

Grosshanten had picked up two kings and was a big favorite to double up as the flop came 268, but Duan picked up a flush draw on the J turn.

"Heart! Heart! Don't do me like that!" Grosshanten pleaded going to the river, and he successfully dodged the 3 to secure the double up two spots off the money.

Day five-bet shoved all in for 184,000 and Shah reshoved all in for 306,000. Quraishi asked for a count and then laid his hand down, flashing the A in the process.

Christopher Day: AAAll in
Ketan Shah: KK

"Wow!" Quraishi exclaimed. "You saved me. I folded ace-king."

If true, that meant Shah was down to just a single out. The board ran out Q10645 and Day's pocket aces held on for a double up.
