Mugar Catches Zimmerman Making a Move; "Fantastic Fox" Catches a Miracle

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Diane Zimmerman
Diane Zimmerman

Peter Mugar bet 5,000 from the cutoff on a flop of A53 and Diane Zimmerman raised to 18,000 in the big blind. Mugar called and the 9 fell on the turn.

Zimmerman then bet 23,000 and Mugar again called. The river was the 10 and Zimmerman pushed all in for 100,000. Mugar snap-called and turned over 107 for a flush, while Zimmerman could only show 44 as she headed to the rail.

At the same time at another table, Brett Bassock got his remaining 240,000 in the middle on a flop of 4QA. "I have queens," Joshua Mammen told him as he put him at risk.

Brett Bassock: AQ All in
Joshua Mammen: QQ

Bassock had flopped top two pair, but Mammen was ahead with his set. Bassock was drawing only to one of the last two aces in the deck heading to the K turn, and he found his miracle on the A river to make a full house and double.

"Fantastic Fox hits an ace to double," tablemate Javier Zarco said.

Straight vs Super Straight

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ryan Riess raised to 8,000 in middle position and was called by Sam Laskowitz on his left. Jonathan Wang three-bet to 21,000 on the button and only Laskowitz called.

The flop fell J95 and both players checked to the 10 on the turn. Laskowitz led out with a bet of 30,000 and Wang called to see the Q on the river.

Laskowitz checked this time and Wang announced all in. Laskowitz was put to the test for his remaining 50,000 chips and he went into the tank for well over a minute. Finally, he made the call and Wang turned over AK for an ace-high straight while Laskowitz held KQ for just a king-high straight.

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Yang Li raised to 8,000 in the hijack and was called by Joey Weissman on the button and Dylan Linde in the small blind.

Stephen Song
Stephen Song

Stephen Song raised to 8,000 in the cutoff and Mohammad Rohani three-bet to 20,000 on the button. Song responded with a four-bet shove for around 75,000 and Rohani snapped him off.

Stephen Song: 88All in
Mohammad Rohani: A5

Song was in good shape to double up and the flop of Q109 left it that way. Rohani was still looking to catch an ace but it was the 5, 5 runout that actually gave Rohani trip fives to eliminate Song.
