Ekrem Bozkurt opened to 70,000 from under the gun and Gal Yifrach defended from the big blind. The flop came 9♥7♥5♦ and Yifrach check-called a bet of 125,000 from Bozkurt.
The turn was the 4♣ and Yifrach quickly checked again. Bozkurt splashed in a bet of big bet of 450,000 which put Yifrach in the tank. After using two time banks, Yifrach eventually folded and Bozkurt flashed him a card before raking in the pot.
Michael Berk raised to 60,000 under the gun before Matthew Beinner three-bet to 200,000 in the cutoff. Berk then moved all in.
Beinner had around 900,000 remaining and tanked for a minute before folding.
Abdullah Akbarpoor raised to 60,000 on the button and Michael Berk called in the small blind.
Akbarpoor continued for 55,000 on the 9♦7♠2♥ flop and Berk raised to 170,000. Akbarpoor came back with a reraise to 400,000, and Berk called.
Both players checked the 4♠ turn. Berk also checked the 6♠ river, and Akbarpoor then bet 350,000. Berk ended up using a few time banks as he tanked for a minute until calling, and Akbarpoor pumped his fist and turned over 9♠7♥ for two pair to win the big pot.
Peter Mugar opened to 60,000 in the cutoff and Thomas Boivin defended from the big blind. The flop fell K♠8♦3♦ and Boivin check-called a bet of 50,000 from Mugar.
The turn brought the J♥ and both players checked to the 8♠ on the river. Boivin led out with a bet of 150,000 and Mugar responded with a raise to 475,000. Boivin gave it little thought before sending his cards to the muck.
Ekrem Bozkurt raised to 65,000 in the cutoff before Baurzhan Akimov three-bet to 210,000 in the small blind. Bozkurt then moved all in, and Akimov pretended to push his stack forward but ultimately mucked.
Bozkurt thought Akimov had called and went to turn over his cards before it was pointed out Akimov had folded. "I had King Kong," Bozkurt said.
"He decided to take it easy and only have kings this time," Richard Green added.
The next hand, Thomas Boivin raised to 60,000 in the hijack and Akimov shoved for 710,000 from the cutoff for real this time. Boivin snap-called once action got back to him.
Baurzhan Akimov: 8♦8♠
Thomas Boivin: A♣K♦
Akiimov remained in the lead on the 2♦5♥9♦ flop, but Boivin hit the A♦ on the turn to make top pair. Akimov was left with just two outs to survive going to the river, and he found one of them on the 8♣ to make a set and double up.
Michael Berk raised to 60,000 on the button and was called by Matthew Beinner and Jesse Yaginuma in the blinds. The flop came 10♥9♥6♠ and the action checked around to the 3♥ on the turn.
Yaginuma was the first to take a stab at the pot with a bet of 75,000. Berk folded but Beinner called to see the 10♣ on the river. Beinner checked again and Yaginuma paused before checking it back. Beinner turned over Q♦10♦ for trips and Yaginuma couldn't beat it.
Baurzhan Akimov raised to 60,000 in the cutoff and Richard Green called on the button.
The flop came A♣2♣5♣ and Akimov bet 50,000. Green called and the 10♥ fell on the turn.
Akimov then bet 160,000, and Green again called. Both players checked the 9♦ river and Akimov showed J♣9♥, but Green had J♠10♣ for a pair of tens to win the pot.
