With 5,000 in the pot and a flop of , Kathy Liebert checked to her sole opponent on the button. He bet 1,600, Liebert gave a little speech and then raised to 5,600. The button wasn't convinced and reraised to 10,600. Liebert cheerfully moved all in for about 10,000 more and the button insta-mucked.
"That's how you play the ace-deuce, baby!" Liebert exclaimed. "I played that like Phil Hellmuth. You can quote me on that." Liebert then broke into a fairly accurate Hellmuth impression. She is sitting with around 45,000.
Jose "Nacho" Barbero got his last 8,500 chips into the middle with against an opponent with . The board ran , and Barbero can beat the break-time rush out of the room. His day is done.
On a board, Jordan Morgan and David Baker were heads up. Baker was the one doing the betting, and Morgan was just calling a bullet on the turn as we joined the action. There was just less than 50,000 in the pot.
The filled out the board on the river, and Baker fired another 16,600 at the pot. Morgan looked deflated as if he was about to make a call he knew was wrong. He eventually did drop the chips into the pot, and he promptly mucked when Baker showed him the .
Baker adds a big pot to his stack, and it looks like he's up around 175,000 or so now. We'll have to wait until he does some housekeeping to get a better count, though. Morgan, on the other hand, is back down around 30,000 with that loss.
From under the gun, Dan Hirleman raised to 2,500. Ryan Hughes reraised to 6,200 from middle position and then action folded over to John Dolan in the small blind. Dolan moved all in for approximately 30,000 in chips. Hirleman and Hughes both folded to give Dolan the pot.
Action folded to Casey Jarzabek on the button. He put in a raise to 2,200. Chris DeMaci made the call from the small blind and then it was Anh Van Nguyen's turn in the big blind. He three-bet to 7,700, but the action didn't end there. Jarzabek came back with a four-bet to 13,200 and that knocked DeMaci out of the way. Nguyen took a minute and then five-bet to 27,700. Jarzabek gave it up and Nguyen improved back to 95,000 in chips. Jarzabek dropped to 155,000.
Jordan Young had a nice start to his day and got up over 100,000 after beginning with under 50,000. That run has ended though as he just lost his entire stack to Ryan Hughes. Hughes is up to around 295,000 and challenging Alex Kamberis for the lead.
With 13,600 chips in the middle on the flop of , Pat Pezzin called a bet of 7,300 from his opponent to see the fall on the turn. The player checked to Pezzin and he checked behind on fourth street. That brought them to the on the river where action was checked to Pezzin again. He bet 12,500 and his opponent folded. Pezzin's now up to 120,000 in chips.
Once again a little late to the party, we walked up to the table to see the dealer put the turn card down on a board. There was 34,500 in the pot already, and Steve Burkholder had moved all in for what looked like 50,800. Alex Kamberis was deep in the tank, and he spent several minutes considering before announcing the call.
Burkholder flipped up for top-top, but Kamberis' had him in a world of trouble, drawing dead to two outs in fact. The river was the though, a blank, and Burkholder is outta here.
With that large pot, Kamberis moves up to about 295,000 now and into contention for the chip lead.
Action folded to Scott Clements on the button and he raised to 3,200. The small blind responded by reraising to 8,000 only to have Clements quickly move all in for 51,700. The small blind only had a total of 40,000 and reluctantly made the call.
Clements:
Small Blind:
Clements did not look pleased with his position, but was relieved when the board ran out . That's right, it was a chop. Clements is sitting with just below 52,000.
When we walked up to the table, Joseph Cheong was heads up with Payman Arjang on a {3c] flop. Cheong fired out a bet of 3,300, and Arjang tanked for a moment before raising to 10,200 total. Cheong instantly reraised with a stack of high-denomination chips, enough to put Arjang to the decision for his last 25,200 total. The call eventually came, and it was Arjang's in the lead. Turning over , Cheong was open-ended, and the turn gave him another nine outs to the knockout.
The river was the blank , though, and Cheong was forced to grant Arjang the double up, sliding back to his starting stack with 30,000 once again.
