Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Joris Ruijs (left) and Julius Schamburg (right)

Julius Schamburg and Joris Ruijs once again got involved with each other. This time, it was Schamburg who three-bet Ruijs from the cutoff. Ruijs, who had opened from middle position, came along with the call.

The flop brought {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Ruijs checked. Schamburg bet 25,500, Ruijs check-raised to 72,000, and the German reluctantly waved the white flag again.

Sootla Out the Door on a Bad Beat

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ranno Sootla
Ranno Sootla

Pasi Sormunen opened for 6,000 from mid-position before Ranno Sootla jammed for about 11 big blinds from late position. The action folded back around to Sormunen.

"OK," said Sormunen before he called. "It's a gift."

Sormunen turned over {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and it seemed like Sootla would double with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

The {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Hearts} flop was a good one for Sootla. However, the {3-Spades} spiked the turn to give Sormunen a set and leave Sootla with needing just one of the two remaining sevens or two remaining tens for a save.

The {k-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Sootla was eliminated short of the money on a bad beat.

Tarmi Doubles off Arosuo

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Roope Tarmi
Roope Tarmi

Roope Tarmi limped from the small blind before Matias Arosuo raised to 11,000. Tarmi three-bet jammed for 62,000 and Arosuo snap-called.

Roope Tarmi: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Matias Arosuo: {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Tarmi found a double-up after the {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} was unable to help his opponent.

Even Bigger Pot for Ruijs

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Joris Ruijs
Joris Ruijs

It's one big Joris Ruijs show over at table 1, who's now fully in command after taking a huge chunk off Julius Schamburg to soar to nearly 800k, about twice the stack of his nearest challenger.

In a button versus big blind situation, Ruijs limped in on the button and Schamburg checked his option. On the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop, Schamburg bet 9,000 and Ruijs called. The turn brought the {3-Clubs} and Schamburg continued for 41,700, which Ruijs called again.

Schamburg slowed down and checked on the {k-Hearts} river. Ruijs came up with a bet of 142,000, which sent the German deep into the tank. Covered in his hoodie with his head buried in his hands, he tried to figure out whether Ruijs had it or not.

After nearly three minutes, he flicked in a calling chip.

"Flush," Ruijs casually said, who showed {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

"Aargh, I knew it!" Schamburg exclaimed, before paying off the sizable bet with a grimace.

Schmid Clears out Evert

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

The action folded to Constantin Schmid in the small blind and he opted to jam facing Tanel Evert in the big blind with a short-stack.

Evert made the call with {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and was behind his opponent's {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Evert got out of his seat after the {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Spades} gave Schmid two-pair. The {q-Spades} came on the turn giving Evert a very outside chance to win the hand if another queen came on the river. However, the {8-Hearts} came instead and Evert headed out the door.

Ben Said Doubles Off Evert

Amir Ben Said three-bet jammed for 38,000 and was called by the original opener Tanel Evert. The players were flipping with Ben Said turning over {9-}{9-} and Evert showing {k-}{j-}.

Ben Said took a huge edge in the hand after the {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs} came on the flop with Evert needing a pair of runners for a save. Evert was drawing dead after the {5-Hearts} came on the turn. The {3-Diamonds} completed the board to officially give Ben Said a double-up.

Scholten Sees Through Tamasauskas

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Freek Scholten had defended his big blind against an under-the-gun raise from Vincas Tamasaukas. On the turn, the board was reading {2-Spades}{k-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Scholten check-called 12,100 from the Lithuanian.

The river brought the {9-Clubs} and Scholten checked. Tamasaukas quickly moved all in for 38,700 and Scholten called it off after thirty seconds. Tamasaukas indicated it was a good call and flipped {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts} face-up for ace-high. Scholten showed {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and send the Lithuanian on his way out.
