Aki Pyysing jammed for about 44,000 from middle position before Pasi Sormunen over-jammed for more than three times as much from one seat over. The rest of the table folded and Pyysing's tournament life was on the line with a flip.
Aki Pyysing:
Pasi Sormunen:
Pyysing won the flip and doubled up after the came out on the board.
The room just shook. Not because of a giant pot because of the loud shout of "BOOOOOOOOM" coming from Veli-Pekka Alakorva.
Alakorva bet 20,000 into a pot of around 50,000 on the turn with the on the board and got a call from Dragos Trofimov. Both players checked after the completed the board on the river.
"I've got a king," said Trofimov before he turned over .
"BOOOOOOOOM!" shouted when he saw he had a better kicker than his opponent as he turned over .
The stack of Joris Ruijs continues to grow in leaps and bounds. He just won another big pot, this time without eliminating a player like he has done many times earlier today.
The action began with Kasper Mellanen opening to 4,500 from the cutoff. Martin Berge called from the button before Ruijs three-bet to 21,500.
Mellanen four-bet to 55,000. Berge tanked for a minute before he folded and the action paused on Ruijs also for a minute before he called.
Ruijs check-called a bet of 40,000 from Mellanen after the came on the flop. Ruijs then put his opponent to the test with a jam that more than covered the approximately 110,000 Mellanen had in his hand after the came on the turn. Mellanen was in the tank for about 90 seconds before he opted to fold.
After the hand, Ruijs' stack grew to around 585,000, which is more than enough to claim the chip lead.
Krisztina Polgar raised it up from late position and Markku Koplimaa called to see a flop. The flop came down and Polgar got it all in for her remaining stack of around 30,000.
Krisztina Polgar:
Markku Koplimaa:
Polgar was drawing all but dead and the on the turn was the final nail in the coffin, improving Koplimaa's straight to a genuine straight flush. The was merely one for the statistics and Polgar made her way to the exit.
