Rafal Finds Kings

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

With the blinds now capped at 8,000/16,000 until we lose 28 more players, Rafal Gruba found the ideal spot, raise-calling with {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} and finding himself up against the next best hand, with both flush draws covered: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

The dealer spread a {j-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop, which everyone needed to look twice at to make sure none of the paint on there connected with either player. The {a-Spades} turn double-paired the board, with the {4-Diamonds} bricking the river, securing a huge pot for Gruba at a crucial time in this tournament.

Gunter Pacek shrugged as he called off Lukas Urban's all-in

Following a flat call from early position, Gunter Pacek limped in from the cutoff, with Lukas Urban deciding this was a good spot to shove for his last 55,000. The first limper folded, with Pacek shrugging and calling off the extra and turning over {a-Spades}{q-Spades}.

Urban was in rough shape with {k-Spades}{j-Hearts} but found redemption in the window of the {j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, albeit only momentarily, as Pacek regained the lead as the {a-Spades} hit the turn. Urban flinched in frustration as the {2-Spades} river landed, sending him to the rail while Pacek dragged a nice pot.

Our remaining players are now 72 from the money.

Eugen Flushes Two Out

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Eugen Dusa
Eugen Dusa

Dusa Eugen raised to 25,000 and was called by the player in the hijack. The player in the button threw all his chips in as a call as he only had 20,000 remaining and got out of his chair to watch the rest of the hand happen while standing behind his chair. The player in the big blind was hesitating, she looked at her chips, grabbed the ones she needed to make a call, thought about it a bit longer and then called.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}, the big blind checked, Eugen continued with another bet of 25,000. The player in the hijack shoved all in for 61,000 in total. The player in the big blind folded and Eugen called.

Dusa Eugen: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}
Hijack: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Button: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

Eugen had a flush draw, the player in the hijack had an overpair with his pocket nines and the player on the button had ace-high.

The turn brought the {3-Spades} which completed the flush draw for Eugen and the rest drawing dead. The {Q-Hearts} on the river was just a formality.
