Vrakas and Segl Chop It Up

Level 6 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Georgios Vrakas
Georgios Vrakas

Lukasz Wasek raised to 42,000 first to act and was called by Petr Segl and Georgios Vrakas in the big blind. On the flop of {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} the action checked to Segl and he bet 76,000. Only Vrakas called and the {7-Diamonds} turn and {4-Diamonds} river was checked through. Vrakas showed the {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Segl chopped it up with the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

One hand later Wasek was taking another shot at scooping a pot on a flop of {7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and bet 75,000 out of the big blind. Segl called, as did Borge Sandsgaard. The {5-Hearts} turn brought no action, while Segl's bet on the {A-Hearts} river for 234,000 to win the pot uncontested.

Re-Entries and a Bustout

Level 6 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The field size of Day 1d has grown to 359 entries with 317 players remaining and the re-entries keep on pouring in. Jason Wheeler, Dzmitry Urbanovich and Joni Jouhkimainen are all back in after busting in either Day 1c or 1d and Gerald Karlic will likely do so shortly after having run out of chips just now.

Daher Takes a Big Blow to His Stack

Level 6 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Albert Daher
Albert Daher

"This is an old school hand, it was five-bet preflop," Ismael Bojang mentioned while a massive pot of 900,000 had emerged between Tomas Jozonis in the cutoff and Albert Daher in early position. The duo checked the {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop and Daher moved all in after the {6-Diamonds} turn, Jozonis called instantly.

Tomas Jozonis: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Albert Daher: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The {3-Clubs} on the river was a blank and Daher sighed. "Nice life," he said and paid off the 803,000 that Jozonis had left over.

Ayres Takes It Without Showdown

Level 5 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

On the four-way flop of {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} the player on the button made it 80,000 to go and Stephen Ayres called in the small blind, while two opponents including Niall Farrell in the cutoff folded. The {2-Clubs} turn was checked through and Ayres bet the {4-Spades} river for 135,000 to force a fold.

Ayres remains below the starting stack after a skyrocketing start, and next to Farrell in the seven seat is Matous Skorepa, who won a bracelet on home soil at the 2017 WSOPE here at the King's Casino in Rozvadov.

Mustapha Kanit was among those to re-enter within the first six levels.

Field Size Update

Level 5 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The screens show a total of 312 entries of which 288 remain and Sebastian Langrock was among those to bust. Raffaele Sorrentino has climbed up to almost two times the starting stack and Florian Duta's re-entry into Day 1d has been successful thus far as well.

Rien Ne Vas Plus

Level 5 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The board was all but rushed away, showing the {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, and the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} of Cem Eryigit were rushed into the muck. The Frenchman had been all in and at risk against an opponent with {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and his kicker problem would prove vital to see Eryigit head to the rail.

Satellite Finished; Field Growing

Level 5 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The 25 seat guarantee satellite has finished some 15 minutes ago and the players are pouring into Day 1d in order to take their seats. Among the satellite winners were Stanislav Koleno and Mohamed Mamouni, while Anton Wigg will get a cash prize after having already bagged up for Day 2 in last night's heat.

Johnny Lodden and Steve O'Dwyer re-entered at almost the same time.

Mrakes Loses Some

Level 4 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante

On the heads-up turn of {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{J-Hearts}, Michal Mrakes was spotted with a bet of 108,000 and his sole remaining opponent from two seats over called. Mrakes also bet the {4-Hearts} river for 86,000 and received a call to turn over {J-Spades}{10-Spades} for top pair and a busted flush draw. That was unfortunately not enough, as his opponent held {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} for top pair with the better kicker.
