Middleton Wins a Small One

Level 7 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Not for the first time this week, the flop was all the same card coming {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} in a blind-on-blind confrontation between Tom Middleton and the player in the big blind.

Both players checked quickly, and they repeated their actions on the {2-Hearts} turn.

The river was the {k-Hearts} and Middleton bet 2,500. His opponent quickly called, but Middleton showed {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a rivered full hosue and his opponent mucked.

Van Wesemael Eliminated

Level 7 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

We spotted Sander van Wesemael on the rail and he told us how he "couldn't find a fold with queens."

A player in middle position opened to 5,000 and Van Wesemael three-bet to 20,000 from the big blind with the aforementioned queens. The initial raiser then piled it in for 165,000 and Van Wesemael called.

His opponent had Aces and the Dutchman was soon sent to the rail. He is now waiting until he feels the time is right to jump into Day 1d; the final opportunity for him to secure a spot in Day 2.

Todd Takes from Hindocha

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Nicholas Todd
Nicholas Todd

A player in middle position opened and Super High Roller runner-up Nishid Hindocha called on the button before fellow Super High Roller final tablist Nicholas Todd three-bet from the small blind. Hindocha was the only caller and they went heads-up to a flop of {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Todd continued for 20,000 and Hindocha called. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and Todd check-called a small bet of 11,500 from Hindocha.

Todd checked the {k-Hearts} river and Hindocha checked behind. Todd showed {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} for a rivered full house and that was good enough to take down the pot.

Bets Getting Bigger

Level 9 : 1,500/3,500, 3,500 ante

On a turn of {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} David Rooney check-called a bet of 55,000 from his opponent Tom Blair. Both had plenty of chips behind in what looked like it was going to become a major pot in the tournament.

The river {2-Clubs} however killed the action with both players checking. Blair showed {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} but Rooney took down the pot with {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

"If he shove the river," said a tablemate to Rooney, "You start to cry!"
