Fast Start for Fast

Level 10 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Dietrich Fast
Dietrich Fast

Dietrich Fast came into Day 2 with one of the top stacks in the room, and he's added more than two million chips to the pile in the first two levels of the day.

Fast's latest triumph came in a blind versus blind pot against Christopher Frank, in which Fast bet 40,000 on a {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, from the small blind. Frank called from the big blind, and both players checked the {8-Hearts} turn, and Fast bet 40,000 on the {a-Spades} river.

Frank called, but mucked when Fast turned over {k-Spades}{q-Spades}.

Refos Eliminates Riess

Level 10 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess got his chips in the middle with {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} but his was no good against the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} of Raoul Refos. The board ran out with a full house on it {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Refos still had the better hand.

Riess was eliminated from the tournament while Refos collected more chips.

Peters Eliminated

Level 10 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

David Peters was one of the new entries on Day 2 and it was a short day for him. The American pushed his last 505,000 to the middle from early position with {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} but Eduard Scharf woke up in the big blind with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Peters was left with just 30,000 after they counted the stacks.

He sat under the gun the next hand and asked if it was ante first or blind first, as he had less than a big blind left. A clear answer wasn't given and the floor was called. Peters eventually folded before an answer was given and then heard from the floor that he had to place his ante first the next hand and that he was only eligible to win his own ante.

He did win back his own ante when he sat in the big blind but lost his 30,000 when he sat in the small blind.
