Bonn Bounces Opponent

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Christopher Bonn
Christopher Bonn

Christopher Bonn made it two won pots in a row, this time sending an opponent packing.

A middle-position player opened the action with a raise to 600, Bonn called on the button, and the small blind three-bet to 2,100. Both opponents called.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades}, the small blind continuation bet for 4,000, the middle position player folded, and Bonn called.

The small blind went all in for the last of his stack, around 4,000 more, on the {10-Spades} turn, and Bonn snap called.

Small Blind: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Christopher Bonn: {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The river {k-Spades} improved the small blind to aces and kings, but it wasn't the card he wanted to see, as it brought in a broadway straight for Bonn, ending the small blind's tournament run.

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Billy Chen
Billy Chen

Billy Chen opened to 600 under the gun, the hijack raised to 2,100, both the cutoff and button cold called the three-bet, and Chen called.

The flop came {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, and action checked to the button, who bet 5,000. Chen called, the hijack folded, and the cutoff player raised all in for 14,800 total.

The button tanked for a bit, then folded, and Chen also tanked briefly, before eventually making the call.

Hijack: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Billy Chen: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The hijack was looking for a diamond to complete the flush, but the turn {6-Spades} and river {3-Hearts} brought no further help, sending him the the exit.

Big Flop Ends in a Chop

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

With {6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs} on the board, Abraham Lopez checked, Besnik Dudi bet 7,500, amd Lopez made the call.

The river action pumped up the number of chips in the middle to create one of the biggest pots played during Level 1, but it ended in a chop as Lopez turned over {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, while Dudi tabled {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

Other players at the table commented on what a nice flop it was for both, but Dudi and Lopez had to settle for chopping it up as both held the eight-high straight.

First Big Stax Event for 2020

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

The Parx Big Stax poker festival has consistently been one of Pennsylvania's biggest poker events throughout its existence.

As the 33rd running of this event gets underway, it's a safe bet to expect another big turnout over the next few weeks for all of the events in this month-long festival.

If last year is any indication, the Big Stax 300 should draw some of the largest attendance of the festival. The February 2019 edition of the Big Stax 300, played during Big Staxx XXVII, drew 2,874 total entries, with a prize pool of $819,090.

Victor Ramdin took down first place, taking home $87,327 for a great return on the $300+40 buy-in tournament.
