This round of shots from Joe Giron features a a truck driver, a race car driver, the EPT7 Player of the Year, a poker couple, and possibly the wealthiest man in the room.
A player in middle position opened to 1,025 and received two callers, including Guillaume Rivet who was in the big blind. The flop fell , and the action checked to a player near the button who bet 1,200. Rivet check-raised to 3,025, the original raiser released, and the player near the button called.
The turn was the , and Rivet led for 5,200. His opponent tank-called, and the completed the board. Rivet quickly moved all in for 12,500, and his opponent went deep into the tank. After nearly five minutes, he finally folded, and Rivet playfully wiped his brow.
"You're dying to show," David "Doc" Sands piped up.
Rivet laughed as he mucked his cards and raked in the pot.

We've lost one half of Team De Meulder. It's Christophe who's been bounced, and he was kind enough to tell our Dutch colleague what happened.
De Meulder was the preflop raiser from the cutoff, and both the small and big blinds called the 900 to see a flop. It came , and we'll spoil the drama and tell you that De Meulder was holding . He made a continuation bet of 1,300 after flopping those trips, and the small blind matched the bet to see a heads-up turn card.
It was a , not a terribly bad card for the Belgian. But the small blind led out into him with 3,100, and De Meulder just flatted to see a land on the river. Mr. Small Blind shoved in for the ~8,000 De Meulder had left, and he quickly made the call to put himself at risk with the third nuts. It was second-best.
Mr. Small Blind showed up for the best hand possible, and De Meulder has made a sour exit from this Day 1b.

Andre Akkari was getting pretty short on chips when he took his stand with . An opponent woke up with , though, and a board full of blanks sent the Brazilian on his way.
Eugene Katchalov was the other victim of the first few minutes of Level 6. The Ukrainian was lucky enough to find himself the beneficiary of pocket aces versus pocket queens, but his overpair could not hold. A third queen appeared on the turn, and Katchalov has been forced to exit just when things were starting to get interesting.
