Bicknell Eliminates Owen at the Buzzer

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

Adam Owen stuck in 25,000 from early position over a raise to 10,400 from Kristen Bicknell in middle position, and Igor Kurganov, who had committed some chips to the pot, got out of the way. Bicknell called and the flop came {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Owen slowed down with a check and then called 12,500. Both players checked the {k-Diamonds} and the river was a {j-Hearts}. Owen shoved all in for 31,700 after some thought and Bicknell tanked for approximately five minutes.

At one point, she said she thought they might have the same hand. Finally, someone called a clock. A supervisor came over and counted down until Bicknell flicked a chip in with one second left.

Owen tabled {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and moved to exit, with Bicknell showing {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}.

Serda Stays Alive

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

After a series of preflop raises, Patrick Serda was all in for around 15,000 and was at risk for the first time today, much earlier than what he was hoping for. Serda turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and was called by the {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} of his opponent.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to give Serda the only flush draw to go with his two overcards. The {9-Spades} on the turn was of no help but the {4-Hearts} on the river gave Serda a flush and a full double up.

Van Zadelhoff Wins With Fours

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

Steven van Zadelhoff raised to 1,200 from mid-position and action folded to Robin Hegele in the small blind. Hegele three-bet to 4,800 for the big blind to fold immediately. Van Zadelhoff confirmed the amount with the dealer and then made the call.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, Hegele continued with a bet of 6,000 which Van Zadelhoff called.

They both checked through the {8-Clubs} on the turn and the {6-Hearts} on the river. Hegele tabled {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} but Van Zadelhoff held {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the flopped pair of fours to pick up the pot.

More for Engel

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

On a flop of {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, Oscar Hilario Quijada and Ari Engel both checked and the {7-Spades} followed on the turn. Quijada check-raised from 1,800 to 5,700 and Engel called to see the {2-Spades} on the river.

No betting action followed and Quijada shook his head, then flashed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the missed nutflushdraw. Engel had that beat with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Nicholas Palma in the nine seat said "you are the best" over to the other side of the table.

Fox Calls Down with Top Pair

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

Five players saw a flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} with around 7,000 in the middle already. The blinds checked and one player tossed in a bet of 3,200. Elio Fox was the only player to call from the button and the {2-Spades} landed on the turn.

Fox called another bet of 3,400 and then was put to the test for 11,500 on the {9-Clubs} river card. He eventually made the call and his opponent turned over {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Fox tabled {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for top pair and was awarded the pot.

Cristos Loses a Bunch

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

Jordan Cristos was in the big blind and had 21,000 in front of him, which looked to be about double the pot, on {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Karim Rebei wasn't deterred and shoved from under the gun, with Cristos tanking a bit and folding for his last 31,100.
