Vuilleumier Gets Hueber to Force

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Joining the action on the {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, Thomas Hueber and Alexandre Vuilleumier invested 16,000 each and they headed to the {5-Spades} turn. Hueber checked again and Vuilleumier now announced all-in for an effective 40,000, as that's what Hueber had behind.

A very reluctant fold by Hueber followed and Vuilleumier raked in the pot.

PN Podcast: Postle Back in Poker & Guest Mori Eskandani Shares Mirage Stories

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.

Nenad Dukic

Action was caught on the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop with 22,800 in the middle. David Coleman checked in the big blind before Nenad Dukic bet 17,000 from the hijack. Coleman called.

Coleman then check-called for 32,000 on the {7-Spades} turn which brought in the {3-Hearts} river. Coleman, with 55,800 behind, checked once more. Dukic decided to ship in his bigger stack and Coleman immediately called.

"Ace is good," said Dukic as he rolled over his {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Coleman then tabled his {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} to claim the pot and the double up.

Jacobson Forces Out Sammartino

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Martin Jacobson made it 10,000 to go out of the small blind on the {9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts} turn and was called by Dario Sammartino. The {10-Clubs} river completed the board and Jacobson now bet 27,500, which won the pot without any further resistance.

Pinho De Faria Felted by Kornuth

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Christopher Puetz made it 2,600 to go and was flat-called by Chance Kornuth from the next seat. Luis Pinho De Faria then pushed all-in for what appeared to be 31,200 and Puetz reluctantly folded.

Kornuth mulled it over for ten seconds, said "ah, why not" and piled in a tower of T-5,000 chips for the call.

Luis Pinho De Faria: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Chance Kornuth: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Kornuth had the Portuguese pipped by a notch and the kicker would play on the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} runout to eliminate Pinho De Faria.

"A lot of players are busting here," Alberto Meran mentioned in chat right after the hand as Rayan Chamas had also been among those to depart recently.

Blank Drawing Blanks

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Joining the action, Ehsan Amiri appeared to be facing a five-bet all in. Amiri was under the gun and had 18,000 in front of him before Ryan Blank moved all in for 46,400 from early position.

Amiri had Blank covered and asked for a count before deciding to call.

Ryan Blank: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Ehsan Amiri: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Blank said "I have ace-king. it's in the dealer's hands now," as he was flipping for his tournament life. Blank was drawing blanks and no ace or king came as the {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} board ran out clean for Amiri to eliminate Blank from the tournament.

Held the River Hero; Coleman Runs Bad

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Konstantin Held three-bet jammed a shorter stack of 17,000 with the {a-Spades}{2-Hearts} and David Coleman called with the superior {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Held spiked the three outer on the river.

"I run so bad," Coleman sighed and Michael Jozoff instantly agreed with that.

Talbot Strikes with Rockets

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

Victor Li moved all in from early position and action folded around to Parker "Tonkaaaa" Talbot.

"All in!" he declared loudly as the rest of the table folded an the cards were flipped over, with Li at risk.

Victor Li: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Parker Talbot: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Talbot was in the lead with his pocket aces and the board ran out {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs} on the turn, but then the dealer slightly fumbled the river card and when he flipped it over it was the {10-Hearts} to secure Talbots victory.

"Wow don't scare me like that, dealer!" Talbot joked.

"Yeah, I really thought that was going to get you," tablemate Matt Berkey commented as Talbot was pushed the pot while Li made his exit.

No Chop for Taberham

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Patros Benham opened to 3,000 from the hijack before Simon Taberham made it 10,000 from the cutoff. Benham put in the rest of his 19,000 stack and was called.

Simon Taberham: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Patros Benham: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

"Are you suited?" asked Taberham as he tried to see his opponents cards and Benham confirmed.

"I shouldn't have said that," chimed Taberham as the dealer fanned the {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, which gave Benham his flush draw.

The {j-Diamonds} turn confirmed the checkmark for Benham and the {4-Clubs} completed the board.
