Hecklen Puts Badziakouski to the Test

Mikita Badziakouski opened to 20,000 from under the gun and Henrik Hecklen flatted on the button. They went heads-up to a flop of {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Badziakouski started with a check. Hecklen flicked in a bet of 20,000 and Badziakouski called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and Badziakouski check-called another bet of 105,000 from Hecklen. The {6-Clubs} paired the board on the river and Badziakouski checked for the third time. Hecklen announced all in for 415,000 and Badziakouski released his cards.

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure has returned for the first time since 2019 and PokerNews will be on hand to cover more events than ever before.

Also kicking off on Sunday is the $100,000 PCA High Roller, and the $10,300 PCA Main Event begins on Monday. PokerNews will cover a total of 14 events, including the $25,000 PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship on January 30.

Vieira Pays Off Yan

David Yan was in a heads-up pot against Joao Vieira on a board of {8-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

With 90,000 already in the middle, Yan fired a bet of 90,000 with just 2,000 behind to send Vieira in the tank. The Portuguese pro used through two time banks before calling.

Yan tabled {j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a straight and Vieira sent his cards to the muck as he was left with a short stack.

Pardo Hits a One Outer on Smith

Dan Smith raised to 21,000 from the cutoff and Juan Pardo shipped all in for 266,000 in the big blind. Smith quickly called and the cards were face up on the felt.

Smith held a big lead with the larger of the two pocket pairs. The flop of {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} was safe for Smith and so was the {2-Spades} on the turn. However, the {9-Diamonds} rolled off on the river and Pardo scored a double-up.

"I folded a nine," Cary Katz piped up, letting Pardo know that he spiked a one-outer.

Heath Good at Showdown

Ben Heath opened to 20,000 in early position and Cary Katz called on the button to get the hand heads-up.

Heath continued for 16,000 on the flop of {q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Katz quickly called. Heath then checked on the {j-Diamonds} turn and Katz checked back.

Heath checked again on the {j-Hearts} river and Katz also checked. Heath tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a pair of queens and it was good to win the pot.

Haxton's Stack Takes a Couple of Hits

Christoph Vogelsang opened to 21,000 in the cutoff and Isaac Haxton three-bet to 65,000 on the button. Jean-Noel Thorel four-bet to 130,000 in the small blind which got Vogelsang to fold but Haxton called.

The flop came {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Spades} and Thorel splashed in a bet of 150,000. Haxton laid his hand down and Thorel collected the pot.

On the next hand, Vogelsang raised to 20,000 and Haxton re-raised to 65,000 again. It folded back to Vogelsang who shipped all in for 166,000. Haxton called and the cards were on their backs.

Sergio Aido had just over 16 big blinds to start the hand and moved all in for 166,000 in the hijack. Sirzat Hissou was next to act and stuck in the last of his chips as well.

On the last hand before the break, Joao Vieira raised it up to 16,000 in early position and Sam Greenwood defended his big blind. The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Greenwood checked to Vieira who bet 10,000. Greenwood check-raised to 26,000 and Vieira called.

The turn was the {5-Spades} and Greenwood checked again. Vieira announced a bet of 18,000 and Greenwood just called this time. The river was the {9-Clubs} and Greenwood checked. Vieira slid out a bet of 85,000, leaving just 8,000 behind. Greenwood quickly called and Vieira tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for the winner.
