Tsang Cements Lead

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Chip leader Anson Tsang
Chip leader Anson Tsang

We have just caught Anson Tsang involved in a hand and now the stacks have been coloured up we can see that he had quite the lead, which he has just increased at the expense of Liu Lifu.

With over 100,000 in blinds and antes in the pot already we caught the action on a flop of {2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} just as Tsang led out for 60,000 from the small blind. Lifu, sitting on the button did not think long before pitching his cards into the muck and the rich get richer. Lifu dropped to 250,000 after the hand and Tsang now has 800,000 in chips.

Last Level of the Day

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

This is the last level of the day and we are just four bust outs away from the money spots so it is looking increasingly likely that the players will be making the money today, though four of them will be leaving empty handed.

Stacks at the Break

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

While we could not get all of the big stacks before the players went on break we got enough to know that the current chip leader is Anson Yan Shing Tsang who easily has over 600,000, though his chips are stacked so haphazardly we cannot be sure exactly how much he has exactly.

Break Time

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

There are 67 players still in the running, meaning we are just four bust outs away from the hallowed money spots, though play has paused while the purple 500 chips are taken out of play.

Siu Man Hin and Farrington Double

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Frederik Farrington

The action is coming to the boil here in the Poker King Cup Macau Main Event and the 73 remaining players are swapping chips left, right and center.

Haoyu Hu has recently taken a hit at the hands of Siu Man Hin with the two getting all the chips in pre-flop.

Haoyu Hu: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Siu Man Hin: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

It looked like Hin was on his way out when the flop fell {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts} but the {2-Clubs} turn gave the Hong Kong player some additional outs. The {a-Spades} hit the river to bring a fist pump ‘yeah!’ from Hin and he doubled to 160,000 while Hu dropped to 260,000.

Then a massive pot developed between Denmark’s Frederik Farrington and China’s Dong Kimi that saw the two swap places in the pecking order.

While Kimi started the hand with a little over 500,000 Farrington now has this much while Kimi has 250,000.

Kimi was the initial aggressor, opening to 12,000 and picking up a middle position caller before Farrington re-raised to 35,000 from the button. Kimi made the call and the other player bowed out to take the action heads-up to a {q-}{8-}{4-} flop.

Kimi checked it over to Farrington, who fired for 30,000 and Kimi then check-raised to 75,000, which the Danish player called.

A {9-} hit the turn and Kimi moved all-in with Farrington making a speedy call and Kimi was in a spot of trouble, his ace-jack trailing to Farrington’s pocket aces, and while he had a gutshot straight draw it did not come in on the river.

Back-to-back Bust Outs

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Players are falling thick and fast now and we have just had two consecutive bust outs on the same table in back-to-back hands.

In the first it was Sun Xijie the man wielding the executioner’s axe to send the unfortunate Bao Jun to the rail with the two getting all the chips in pre-flop.

Jun was the man to shove first with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Xijie made the call with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and the flop fell {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. While Jun held the lead Xijie had flopped the nut flush draw which immediately came in on the {j-Hearts} turn to leave Jun drawing dead and he headed for the exit while Xijie stacked up to 160,000.

The very next hand Alex Shen Zheng and Luo Xian got all the chips in with Xian the man to pull the trigger with {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Zheng making the call with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

Zheng paired his king on the {9-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop, and while Xian had the {q-Clubs} in hand Zheng had the {a-Clubs} for the nut flush re-draw, which he hit on the {10-Clubs} turn to send Xian packing while Zheng stacked up to 300,000.

Sheng Busts Wang

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Play had not long re-started after the break and there was an all-in confrontation on table two. It folded around to Chen Sheng in the cutoff and he made it 12,500 to go and Zhong Wang quickly moved all-in from the button for a little under 50,000.

Sheng thought it over, counted down his stack (he had roughly 220,000 behind) and decided he had enough chips to make the call and did so.

Zhong Wang: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Chen Sheng: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

It was a good old-fashioned race and the {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop was a good one for Wang, keeping his pocket sixes in front. The {3-Clubs} turn kept Wangs’s lead and he seemed primed for a double before the unwelcome appearance of the {a-Clubs} river.

Sheng stood up to shake Wang’s hand and he headed for the exit while Sheng stacked up to 270,000.
