Hammond Wins One

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

The flop read {9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and both Xinyong Kong and Duan Chao checked their blinds. Mark Hammond bet 2,000 from the cutoff and both Kong and Chao called.

They all checked through the {9-Clubs} on the turn and the {a-Diamonds} on the river. Kong mucked immediately. Chao showed p6c4d[ for the two pair, nines and fours, but threw them into the muck when he saw Hammond tabled {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for the rivered higher two pair of aces and nines to take down the pot.

Lee doubles Wang Up

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Ye Wang raised to 1,800 from under the gun and was called by Tom Anler in mid-position, Preston Lee in the cutoff, and Xiang Zhu in the big blind.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Zhu, Wang, and Anler all checked. Lee decided to bet 2,500 and only Zhu folded. The rest called.

The turn brought them the {k-Diamonds}, Wang and Anler checked again. Lee contemplated for a bit and then continued with a bet of 15,000. Wang was the only one to make the call.

The {8-Hearts} on the river completed the board and Wang checked for the last time. Lee counted out his stack, looked at the board and decided to shove. Wang snap-called and showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the flopped quad tens. Lee got up from the table but then saw he had Wang covered. The dealer counted out Wang's stack and determined Wang had 30,200 in front of him. After paying Wang, Lee was left with around 10,000.

Game Time Again

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

It is game time once again and the 39 remaining players are back in the thick of the action. Peter Chan is still the man in the driving seat with a stack of 155,000 while the shortest stack belongs to defending champion Chung Yuan Yu.

Yu returned from the break with a paltry 4,800, but has not long doubled up at the expense of Quan Zhou, though the Chinese player still has heaps of chips so did not seem particularly unhappy about this fact. Yu moved the last of his chips in pre-flop with {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} from under-the-gun and Zhou made the call from the big blind with {10-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Zhou paired his seven on the {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, but the rest of the {k-Spades} turn and {j-Clubs} river runout gave Yu Broadway and a much-needed injection of chips.

William Fasano

The board read {9-Spades}{q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} with about 20,000 in the middle. William Fasano had the all-in button in front of him while he was sitting in the small blind. Both Quan Zhou (cutoff) and Chung Yuan Yu (button) both had a bet of 12,800 in front of them. Fasano was all-in for 29,125 in total. Zhou considered it for a while but opted to fold. Yu called.

William Fasano: {4-}{4-Diamonds}
Chung Yuan Yu: {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Fasano had flopped a set of fours and Yu flopped a straight draw.

The river completed the board with the {Q-Spades} to further improve Fasano's set to a full house for the double-up, leaving the defending champ behind with around 6,000 in chips.

Wongwichit Doubles Through Pan

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Phachara Wongwichit shoved all in for 27,350 from under the gun and was called by Cheng How Pan in the big blind who had him covered.

Phachara Wongwichit: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Cheng How Pan: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for Wongwichit to flop a set and Pan a straight draw. The straight never came through and Wongwichit doubled up.

Yu Approaching Six Figures

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante
Jun Da Yu
Jun Da Yu

Jun Da Yu is climbing up the leaderboard, and has just stepped up a rung after taking a decent-sized pot from the UK's William Fasano.

The Brit was on his second bullet, but this did not deter him from opening the action with a raise to 1,200 from the hijack with Yu the only caller in the big blind.

Yu checked the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop over to Fasano, who continuation-bet 2,000. The Chinese player reached for raising chips and splashed out check-raise, making it 4,800 to go, which Fasano called swiftly.

Now Yu had taken the initiative he seemed loath to lose it and the {4-Clubs} turn saw him fire for 8,000, with Fasano again quickly throwing in the call.

The [{4-Diamonds} river missed the heart flush draw to pair the board and Yu bet big, leading for 23,520 and eliciting an immediate fold from Fasano. That pot brings Yu closer to the 100k mark with the Chinese player stacking up to 96,000 while Fasano dropped down to 31,600 of his second bullet.
