The UK's Tom Alner boasts some impressive results in Macau with over US$900,000 of his $1.5 million in live tournament winnings coming at the poker tables of the former Portuguese enclave.
However, the Brit will not be adding anything to his resume today and will have to reenter tomorrow if he wants to cash this event as has not long busted to Japan's Takashi Ogura.
All the chips went in pre-flop in a three-bet pot, with Alner's pocket nines behind to Ogura's pocket kings and not improving to send Alner to the rail and shoot Ogura up to 72,000 in chips.

The defending Champion, Chung Yuan Yu was seen standing up at his table, taking a photo of the board. Yu had gone all-in from the big blind for about 8,000 and was called by Qing Zhao in early position.

The board ran out to give Zhao quad nines on the flop to eliminate Yu from the tournament. Yu still has time to reenter as the registration period is open until the end of Level 12 which is until approximately 3 PM local time.

Hoaran Liu raised to 2,200 from under the gun and was called by Bixin Gao in mid-position. Gao had busted a bit earlier today but looks like to be doing better on his second bullet. Yu Zheng checked his cards while sitting in the small blind and then decided to shove all in. Liu asked for a count and the dealer confirmed Zheng had 30,300 in front of him. Liu also shoved with the bigger stack. Gao quickly folded.

The action is chugging along, though there have been no massive pots as of late. A couple of hands went down and though neither pot was particularly sizable, every little helps in tournament poker and winning the small ones with minimal risk pads out a player's stack just fine.
The two beneficiaries of this small ball trend are Yang Li and William Fasano. It was Li we caught in action first, though it was the UK's Mark Hammond who was the initial aggressor, making it 2,000 to go from the hijack. Both Li (small blind) and Duan Chao (big blind) made the call to take the action three-way to a flop of .
This saw Li lead for 2,500 and after a quick fold from Chao, Hammond made the call to bring the action heads-up to the turn. There would be no river, with Li's turn bet of 6,000 enough to get the Brit to give it up and drop to 35,600, while Li climbed to 55,000.
Another Brit who things appear to be working out much better for is William Fasano, and while he is on his second bullet, Fasano has run his stack up to close to 100,000 after pushing China's Quan Zhou off a hand.
With two high roller titles and a slew of high profile cashes on his poker resume, Zhou is no pushover, but did not appear to have much in this particular hand, leaving Fasano to reap the benefits.
We picked up the action on the flop with close to 6,000 in the pot with the community cards spread a monochrome . Both players checked and Fasano took a stab for close to half pot on the turn, which was enough to take down the pot.

Dong Chen raised to 2,300 from under the gun and was only called by Hua Huan Feng on the button.
The flop came , Chen check-called the 2,000 bet of Feng.
The turn brought them the , Chen check-called again but now it was a bet of 4,000.
The river completed the board with the and Chen checked for the last time. Feng continued with a bet of 7,000 which send Chen into the tank. After about a minute or two, Chen decided to call. Feng flipped over for the flopped two pair and improved full house on the river and that was enough for Chen to muck his hole cards.

The field's numbers are fluctuating presently, with players coming in and out of the tournament with high frequency. The three new arrivals were only just taking their seats while China's Hongjiu Zhao was leaving his, courtesy of a run in with Hong Kong's Tony Cheng.
It was Cheng who was the initial aggressor, making it 2,200 to go from under-the-gun, with Zhao (small blind) and He Chang (big blind) making the call to take action three-way to a flop of .
This is where all the fireworks happened, with both players checking the action to Cheng in position, who fired out a continuation bet. Zhao check-raised all-in for close to 14,000 in total, Chang got out of the way and Cheng made the call.
Tony Cheng:
Hongjiu Zhao:
While Zhao had hit top pair, top kicker, Cheng was drawing extremely live with his gutshot straight flush draw and while the turn was a blank the river completed Cheng's straight flush. Zhao could only tap the table and head for the rail while that timely catch saw Cheng scoop the pot and climb to 81,000.
