Jonathan Little Survives Forced All-In to Advance in PokerGO Cup Showcase

Level 16 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Jonathan Little

The second and final starting flight of Event #1: $3,000 PokerGO Cup Showcase took place today as the PokerGO Cup continues on inside the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

Leading the way is Sandeep Koralla, who spiked a two-outer through poker coach Jonathan Little to take the runaway chip lead. Little was only left with one big blind but managed to spin it up and stay alive on the money bubble to be one of the 23 players who bagged.

Little's miraculous spin-up also involved folding the flop "getting a bazillion to one," as Matthew Wantman put it, to be left with just a small blind, which he proceeded to turn into a six-figure stack.

Other players who advanced to Day 2 include German pro Manig Loeser, Brazilian crusher Joao Simao, and American pros Chino Rheem, Michael Rossitto, David "ODB" Baker, Joe Serock, Darren Rabinowitz and PokerGO boss Cary Katz.

Day 1b Action

Day 1b of the PokerGO Showcase drew 161 runners, nearly tripling the field size of Day 1a. In another change from the opening flight, zero players, to PokerNews' knowledge, told stories about hitting wild boards with their cars while driving in Eastern European countries.

There were big hands to go with the big field, and they started early as Landon Tice flopped a set of aces to crush the smaller set of old school player Doug Lee.

But just a few levels later, Tice was the one with the inferior flopped set as he doubled up Justin Vaysman.

That wasn't the only cooler. Justin Zaki got his chips in with a flopped straight against the two pair of Natalie Ferguson, who filled up on the river and went on to build up a stack to be one of the end-of-day big stacks.

Another big hand was cracked when Daniyal Gheba flopped two pair against the aces of Nicholas Seward, who is still coming off the high of winning the WPT Venetian Spring Championship for $418,700.

Unlike Joe Walsh of Eagles fame, life hasn't been good to Michael Walsh so far. The American was eliminated on the money bubble as his ace-king couldn't hold up against the suited connectors of Gheba, who rivered a pair to mark the end of Day 2.

The 23 survivors of Day 1b will join yesterday's eight surviving players for Day 2 on Tuesday, March 3, which will kick off at noon local time.

The event will play to a winner, who will take home the top prize and the first trophy of the 2026 PokerGO Cup festival.

In addition to PokerNews live updates, Tuesday's Day 2 action will be streamed on PokerGO.

Stay tuned as the PokerNews live reporting team will be back on site on Monday for continued coverage of the PokerGO Cup in Las Vegas. Check out the live reporting portal in the meantime.

Life No Longer So Good to Walsh

Level 16 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Daniyal Gheba
Daniyal Gheba

Table bully Daniyal Gheba opened to 60,000 in the cutoff and Michael Walsh three-bet jammed a stack of 140,000 in the big blind. Gheba did not snap.

"You have to call. I know you don't have shit," said Walsh.

Michael Walsh: AK All in
Daniyal Gheba: 98

The flop of 572 was as sweaty as they come and the board finished out 48, giving Gheba a sneaky pair of eights to crush Walsh's hopes on the money bubble.

Sandeep Koralla was all in for around 600,000 against Jonathan Little, who had him covered by just a few chips.

Sandeep Koralla: JJ All in
Jonathan Little: AK

Little took the lead on the flop of K7Q, but the board finished out 3J as Koralla spiked a jack on the river to leave the poker coach with just one big blind.

Little was forced all in from the big blind but ended up getting a walk.

Jeremy Becker
Jeremy Becker

Jeremy Becker was all in against the slightly bigger-stacked Peter Mugar across the table.

Jeremy Becker: A4 All in
Peter Mugar: KQ

Mugar took the lead on the flop of 7QJ and the runout of 25 confirmed the elimination of the daily king, who said he was heading to the bowling alley.

"Are you going to wear that hat?" someone asked.

"No, I don't wear a hat while I bowl," Becker replied.

Gheba Cracks Aces

Daniyal Gheba
Daniyal Gheba

Nicholas Seward opened to 16,000 in the hijack and Daniyal Gheba called in the small blind.

Gheba checked on the flop of 9KQ and Seward continued for 12,000. Gheba called. Gheba checked again on the 7 turn and Seward sized up to 48,000. Gheba check-raised to 300,000 and Seward called off with less.

Seward's aces had been outflopped and the 3 river didn't change anything as the young poker pro was sent to the rail.

Zaki Flopped a Straight. You Won't Believe What Happened Next

Level 6 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Natalie Ferguson
Natalie Ferguson

Natalie Ferguson and Justin Zaki tangled in a heads-up pot on a board of 687.

Ferguson had bet 28,000 and Zaki raised to around 110,000 to put Ferguson to the test for the rest of her stack. She used a time extension and called.

Natalie Ferguson: 76 All in
Justin Zaki: 95

Ferguson's two pair was in bad shape against Zaki's straight, but the board finished out 107 and she made a full house to double up.

Tice on Losing End of Set Over Set This Time

Level 4 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Landon Tice
Landon Tice

Landon Tice was involved in yet another set over set confrontation, but he was on the wrong end of things this time around.

Justin Vaysman doubled up through Tice holding 88 against the 55 of Tice as chips got in on the river. The board had already been washed, but it showed an eight and a five on the flop.

Just an hour ago, Tice flopped a set of aces to crush the flopped set of threes of Doug Lee.

"Does It Ever Get Boring?" Back-to-Back Full Houses for Coleman

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
David Coleman
David Coleman

There was another elimination at Table 3 during the first level, this time at the hands of 2024 GPI Player of the Year David Coleman.

On a board of K6K42, Coleman moved all in and was eventually called by heads-up opponent Bryan Swanson. Coleman rolled over K4 for a full house as Swanson's massage was cut short.

According to those at the table, Coleman had another full house earlier in the level.

"Does it ever get boring?" asked Jeremy Becker.
