Steve O'Dwyer Eliminated

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

In a four-way limped pot, Steve O'Dwyer saw a {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop from the blinds for free. The exact earlier flop action was unknown, but Steve O'Dwyer had a T-5,000 chip in front of him. Paul Tedeschi had raised to 16,000, O'Dwyer went all in for 27,500 and Tedeshi called it off.

Paul Tedeschi: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Steve O'Dwyer: {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

O'Dwyer was looking for straight and flush outs against Tedeschi's set, but the {5-Hearts} on the turn slammed that door shut. The meaningless {7-Clubs} river sealed it for O'Dwyer, who already racked up two six-figure scores earlier this week.

Ho Drops One to Teltscher But Still Up Plenty

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Maria Ho opened to 2,300 in the hijack in a hand with a dead button, and Mark Teltscher three-bet it to 6,500 on her left. Ho called, and the flop came {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. She check-called 5,500, and the turn was an {8-Hearts}. Ho checked again, this time calling 12,000. On the {3-Diamonds} she checked a final time. Teltscher stared at the sky for a bit and seemed pained before he checked.

Ho turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, but Teltscher had {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. He expressed a bit disgust that he didn't get more value.

Despite the setback, Ho is well above where she began the day, which was under 20 big blinds.

Colman Gaining Early Momentum

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

A sight the other players surely won't want to see is Dan Colman chipping up, but that's exactly what's happening as the famed high roller came in under 15 big blinds but has about 40 now. In one recent pot, he checked from the blinds on a {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop and then check-raised to 4,500 after his opponent put in a bet of 1,800. That player conceded the pot, and Colman could be building toward another big run to add to his $28 million in cashes.

Petrangelo Doubles Through Dietrich

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After a button open to 2,600, Nick Petrangelo made it 7,800 to go in the small blind. Moritz Dietrich woke up with a cold four-bet to 16,500 in the big blind, and Petrangelo responded with an all-in shove for about 46,000 after action got back to him. Dietrich called.

Dietrich: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Petrangelo: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board ran out in Petrangelo's favor: {2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

Loeser A Force to be Reckoned With

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Manig Loeser just eliminated Minh Phuc Nguyen with a shove on the river on a board of {J-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Nguyen check-called the river after some time in the tank but had to muck his {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} as Loeser showed {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}.

Loeser now sits on 275,000, one of the bigger stacks in the room. He's seated at the same table as chip leader Jeffrey Hakim who's playing about 325,000.

Papazian and Mortensen Meet

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Alexandru Papazian and Morten Mortensen are seated right next to each other, which should make for some interesting clashes today. After Papazian opened to 2,200, Mortensen wasted no time to put his first three-bet of the day in and raised to 5,900. Papazian called to see a flop of {K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} appear.

Papazian checked the flop, Mortensen bet 5,600 and Papazian called. Both players checked it down on the {Q-Diamonds} turn and {10-Diamonds} river. Papazian tabled {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for a pair of kings and Mortensen mucked.

On the first hand of the day, Christophe Larquemin open-shoved 6,000 from under the gun. Action folded around to Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier in the big blind, who made the call.

Christophe Larquemin: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Bertrand Grospellier: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
