Black Pipped by Lee Egan

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Three players went to a flop of {9-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

Lee Egan checked it from the small blind and was the only caller as Andy Black bet 1,100.

The {10-Clubs} hit the turn and a check from Egan saw Black check behind.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Egan check-called a 1,500 bet form Black who showed {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. That was the loser to the {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} of Egan.

“The one hand you check that beats me,” Black said.

Gary Stokes Doubles Up; Wins Oscar for Best Actor

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Uday Bansal raised to 500 and the player in the next position called. Gary Stokes three-bet to 3,200 from the big blind and both other players called.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Stokes bet 9,300. Bansal called and the third player in the hand folded.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and Stokes moved all in for 21,000. Bansal went into the tank. Stokes beckoned his friend over, explaining how he had lost with Kings in the previous hand. Stokes got to his feet, rearranging his jacket and looking impatient.

Eventually, Bansal threw a chip in into the middle, and Stokes tabled {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. Bansal showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. The river was the {4-Spades} and Stokes doubled up to over 70,000.

Zac Sloper was sat to Stokes's right and slid his phone onto the rail beside him. "That's for you," said Sloper, showing him a picture of an Oscar statue, "You even did that big sigh pre-flop!"

Touba Cracks Aces to Double

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Jesper Rytgaard from Denmark opened from early position and got a call from Nils Touba from Finland in the big blind who had got off to a rocky start and had dipped below 6,000 in chips.

The flop was {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} with the remainder of Touba’s chips going in the middle with Rytgaard calling.

Touba had smashed the flop with his {9-Clubs}{6-Spades} while Rytgaard tabled his {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

A turn {j-Diamonds} and river {4-Clubs} saw Tuba secure a much needed double up.

Andy Black Brings the Fun

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Andy Black is number one on the Ireland all-time money list and he has just sat down at Table 11. The teasing has gone up a few notches as they discussed the Turbo Day 1c which is the only re-entry allowed.

“Two or three of us will be in it for sure,” Black predicted with a mischievous grin.

At another table, Scotland’s David Docherty has also joined the fray.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and the river the {j-Diamonds} and Jordon was eliminated.

Colin Broughan With the Squeeze Play

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

David Penly opened the action for 375 and got a call from Vladimir Dronov before Colin Broughan in the cutoff squeezed to 1,200.

The blinds folded and while Penly threw in the calling chips, Dronov gave it some long thought before passing.

It was heads up to a flop of {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} where Penly check-folded to a 2,600 bet from Broughan.

Both Christoph Neuerer and Audrius Daugvilavicius must have eaten their porridge this morning, because they're already well up over starting stack midway through the second level of the day.
