Fraser Macintyre Puts Tom Hall on Tilt

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Fraser Macintyre raised to 900 from under the gun and Tom Hall called on the button. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Macintyre bet 1,100. Hall called.

The turn was the {k-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {7-Hearts} and both players checked.

Macintyre showed {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Hall winced.

"I had Jack-Ten," said Hall, "Why did I not just blast it? Turn it into a bluff.

"I'm on tilt now," he said smilingly.

Jake Cody Eliminated

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We noticed Jake Cody's empty seat, and we asked Jason Wheeler what had happened.

According to him Glenn Cochrane opened from early position, and got several callers before Cody moved all in for around 20 big blinds from the big blind. Cochrane called and the other players all folded.

Cochrane held {q-}{q-} and Cody {a-}{9-}, and despite a nine on the river, it wasn't enough for Cody to stay alive and he was eliminated.

Will Kassouf Busts

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

William Kassouf shoved for his last 4,025 from early position. He has been down to his last 12k before doubling up a while ago but now his tournament life was at risk.

“I’ve got the coconuts,” Kassouf said.

One by one the players folded. It got to Paul Carr on the button who studied his cards as Kassouf pleaded for a call.

Carr and the small blind folded but Christian Jordanich looked him up.

Kassouf: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Jordanich: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

“Unlucky,” said Kassouf hoping for a kind run out and he nearly got there.

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

Kassouf rivering two pair but no good against the straight of Jordanich.

Kassouf said he would definitely play the Turbo Day 1c later today, especially as he had qualified thought last night’s satellite to Day 1b.

Steven Watts Applies Some Heat

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Darah Thomas opened the action for 1,000 and got a call from Arnaud Peyroles on the button and Steven Watts in the big blind.

The flop of {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} got checked around and the {8-Spades} hit the turn.

Watts led out for 1,375 and that was enough to pick up the chips in the middle.

Watts is chipping up steadily but sweltering in the heat of the poker room on a very warm autumn’s day in Dublin.

“Open some windows and turn the heating down,” pleaded Watts.

Thomas Roussereau With the Hero Call

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

When we got to the table, Jake Cody had bet 7,000 into a pot of 7,500 on a board of {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. His opponent was Frenchman Thomas Roussereau.

Eventually, Roussereau called and Cody opened {8-Spades}{9-Spades} for a missed straight draw. Roussereau showed {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for King-high and was good, taking down the pot and boosting his stack to almost 50,000 in chips.

Gaetano Brignone raised to 750 from the hijack and Stephen Hendry called in the next position. The pair went heads-up to a flop of {4-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Spades} and Brignone check-called a bet of 900 from Hendry.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and both players checked. Brignone checked the {k-Clubs} river and Hendry bet a chunky 3,600 into a pot of only just over 3,000. Brignone threw in a single chip to call.

Seven-time World Snooker Champion Hendry tabled {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a full house, threes full of kings, and Brignone rechecked his hole cards before mucking.

“I Bluffed the Bollix Off Him,” Paul Carr Like a Boss Vs Will Kassouf

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante
William Kassouf
William Kassouf

There was an open and then a call from William Kassouf before Christian Caffrey on the button raised to 1,700. The original raiser folded but Kassouf called.

The flop was {2-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Kassouf check-called a bet of 2,500.

“I hope you’re not bluffing me,” said Kassouf, “I’ve got top pair. Ace jack no good.”

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and Kassouf check-called a 4,000 bet from Caffrey while the chatter continued.

The river was the {k-Clubs}.

“There’s the money card, you let me get there. If I bet now you’ll fold,” Kassouf continued.

They both checked and when Caffrey showed his {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flopped set Kasouf had to admit defeat and folded.

Paul Carr is at the same table and recounted a recent hand where he, “Bluffed the bollix off him,” which creased up the table including the dealer. Carr told how he had check-called flop and river and then bombed the river with an over bet which saw Kasouff fold.

Carr insisted he was bluffing, Kassouf was adamant Carr had turned a flush.

To settle the matter Kassouf opened for 800 and Carr called on the button as the rest of ther players left them to it.

The flop was {q-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Kassouf continued for 800. Carr called to see the {3-Clubs} hit the turn.

Kassouf checked and when Carr asked how much he had left and bet 3,000 Kassouf folded.

“Never mind nine high like a boss,” Carr taunted, “Eight high like a boss,” and showed his {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

“You picked up a flush draw on the turn,” Kassouf protested as the pot was pushed to a jubilant Carr.

“I’ll warn you,” Carr told the rest of the table, “I’m only doing that to him. If I bet against any of the rest of you I’ll have it.”
